Johnboy777,

Is the case mounted on your bike the medium or the large?

How's the quality?

My wife sometimes leans against the Triple Tail on longer rides. What do you think, could she lean on the case the way you have it mounted?

Hey Union_man,

I have the medium which is the smaller of the two. The quality is great for $32, but less than the $130 Givi 340 I had. The Givi was bigger, as well.

I carry my tool kit, air compressor, cold weather/rain gloves, polar fleece jacket & rain gear in it - its not too heavy when loaded. The size it perfect for me.

I did NOT use the mounting plate that came with the kit - thought it might be too heavy with it.

The flipper tail might not be the best mounting option, but I pack light - I always ride solo.

John

If that's the case, did you consider mounting it to the other side of the tail? So it's more or less on the back seat? You wouldn't have to worry about weight at all then, and you may even get a back rest out of the deal.

Also, it would still flip vertical for under seat access.

Hey Mikef5000,

I think the beaver tail is an okay place to mount it from my perspective - I guess what I was getting at is just don't overload it or expect it to carry as much as a rack mounted topcase.
