is there a special socket for changing the oil press sending unit? i have a 12point 1 inch that wants to slip thanks

I just did mine. I'm sure there is a socket of some number of points and size that will go over it and not slip. I ended up using a robo-grip (or channel locks) to remove the old one. Hand threaded the new one til I couldn't turn it then carefully used the robogrip with a little tape over the jaws. There should be threadlock or sealer already on the new unit. No leaks so far.
Of course, my chin fairing is off so I had more room to maneuver. Good luck, be patient.
