I would have to heartily disagree with that statement. I used to be a ride-in-any-weather guy when the first couple years, however it was only due to the novelty of being on a bike. That novelty has long worn off. Now if I can't get to the edges of the tire, then forget it. Also, I will throw the bike on the trailer if the twisties are more than an hour away on the slab. F that.

IMO, the only time a street bike belongs on a trailer is if it's so broken you can't ride it to the shop/home to your garage to deal with it. Or if you're on the way to a track day and need to bring tools/tires/etc with. |

NOt really. Harley's are made for going in straight lines in relative comfort. Trailering Harleys over the slab to the "hot spot" is retarded. It is akin to me trailering my sportbike thru the twisties until I get to the straight stuff. Makes no sense.
Sportbikes are made for the twisties and are zero fun on a long straight stretch of highway. The only thing one accomplishes by long sportbike runs on the slab are flat bottomed tires. I would much rather trailer the bike and arrive fresh, ready to tear up the twisites--not to mention save the profile of my tires.
Luckily I have some good roads just north and east of town, so the trailer isn't used very much at all outside of track days. |

I fell every other week last season finally over a guard rail (thus the name). All my fault all the time. I broke one rule or another everytime. There were 4 falls I wanted to have because I knew I was going to have them anyway and now that there under my belt I'm a better rider because I learned from them. My point is you lived, so learn!!! Maybe I'm crazy but spills make me more confident not less. |

My suggestion is to STOP riding in bad conditions. The fun stops for me when I can't ride aggressively.
It is my only means. It's either the bike or take the bus. (Sometimes begging the wife for a ride is available, but I try to limit that  )
