F-ing dealership wouldn't sell it to me; said some lady had a deposit on it. Then, a couple of months later, Erik Buell himself is riding it at a local BRAG event. They hadn't sold it to that lady after all. Too late for me though; I had ended up getting a Nuclear Blue and Reactor Yellow X1 from a different dealership (Long Live Chick!). Now here is the exact same model not 3 miles from my house, just begging me to buy it. My wife and the three Buells already filling my garage are saying "oh no you don't!". Maybe one of you needs it...please...get it outta here before I ruin my marriage! HellBuelly J |

Just noticed one thing. Did Mil models come with polished case and cylinders? My 2000 X1 is painted black. Any other differences? Performance different? |

millennium models have satin finish on engine. no performance differences. pretty much silvered out. engine cases, frame, wheels, and of course, paint. this one listed here looks like a jewel. i kinda miss the all original look on mine. i bought it slightly used / bone stock. one thing leads to another. then there's hardly anything original about it. oh well, still priceless in my eyes. someone needs to jump on this one. here's mine still mostly all original (photos from killboy)

Thanks Matt. Those Mil'm X1 are indeed unique and I'm willing to bet original copies (like the one listed) will become collectors item. The problem (for me) would be to keep'm low mileage if I owned one. This is the third Tuber I've seen listed for sale that I wanted really bad. The other two were a red/blue 96 S1 and gray/orange M2. Both listed by forum members within the last couple of years. I can definitely see how one could end up with a garage full of Tubers... |

The problem (for me) would be to keep'm low mileage if I owned one. i don't really concern too much of mileage. i am very concerened with condition. a motorcycle i never intend to sell (all of them) can rack as many miles as necessary for me to enjoy the hell out of it. mileage be damned. my .02

I agree. Ride 'em regularly (that's what they were made for!) but keep 'em in good condition. I got my '97 S1 in 2008 with 1600 miles on it. Now it has over 6000 and still looks just as good as it did when I bought it (some might even say "better"!) HellBuelly J P.S. now, buy that X1 before I do something stupid! |

i like the millenium editions, very clean look. takes very little cosmetic mods to make them truly perfect. |

i remember when i went to go find my first bike (the buell i got now), they had a very clean and low mile XB9R. But same thing, another guy, who i knew, had a large deposit down on it. So i got the X1 sitting next to it instead. never looked back... |

Well, guess what. Just talked to the sales guy and the bike was sold on Friday. So stop drooling.... That's probably the closest I've come (other than that petit blonde a few years back!) to putting my marriage on the line!!! Glad it was sold. |
