From messing around with my X1, changing pads will give the most noticeable difference, but if you haven't already, check the little things - Lever pivot lubricated and moving smoothly (I use a tiny bit of chain lube as it takes a long time for rain to wash it away) Check the lever bush hasn't gone out of round, Pads are free to move in the caliper, not binding on the pin or at the top or bottom It's probably not an issue if it feels wooden, but also check the caliper pistons don't have a build up of dust and road grime. Mine was feeling spongy and it turned out two pistons were sticking. 10 minutes with a can of brake clean and a toothbrush and it feels like new again. The Lyndalls give a lot of feel, so I think you'll notice a difference if you're running stock Nissin pads, though I found the Lyndalls took a while to warm up in normal city riding. I now run Ferodo pads and rotor. |

cheers guys. didn't get the Lyalls got Ferodo's Platinums instead.(shipping was to expensive from the US) Will chuck em in on sunday. Yip everythings all lubed and cleaned (did the hell clean off the caliper a little while ago)bleed and bleed again. Hopefully the Ferodos give a better feel. If not i might look in to another M/C. I came from a R1 to the Buell,so would like more feel to them.... |

well have had the Ferodos in for a week now, definately have a more progressive feel at the lever, also doesn't seem to have that last big bite as the previous(unkown brand). But a big improvement. |
