so started the s1 after a couple months hiatus, starts fine, short ride...tried to open gas cap, to see exactly how much gas i had in the tank...the tab spins and spins ( with resistance) finally got it to open...when i have it in my hand i can spin it to lock/ open..but once i put it back its either stuck in the open mode..just sits on top, flush. Any of you guys have this problem? any one have a spare gas cap to sell? solutions? thanks dan |

Take the cap off and turn it upside down so you're looking at the "inside". You'll see the part that spins and locks to the ring on the tank. You'll also see a black plastic area, with 2 tabs on it, that fit through the two slots on the ring on the tank. I filed the outer diameter of those plastic parts until the cap slid in and out like it was supposed to. They - on mine at least - absorbed fuel, or vapor, or something, and swelled up. |

Did the file trick on mine also, Just don't forget to get all the filings off the cap before you put it back on the tank. Quick blast with a air hose will do the trick. |

For anyone else with this issue (good score on the cap, by the way!) - a current (well, current-ish, lol) Blast cap is identical to the tuber caps. |
