Easy question . . . .you see . . .no one will ever tell you where the bridge is . . . you have to ASK to be TAKEN TO THE BRIDGE.
I'm surprised you were not aware of this. . . nonetheless . . . now you know.
quote:
Take me to the bridge
You find this phrase on a lot of James Brown songs, and songs that want to emulate James Brown. You see, James Brown had a very fluid style of composing. Often, his songs were based on riffs, and he would call out changes, sometimes improvised changes, in the midst of a performance or recording. "Take me to the bridge," or some version thereof, is one of his more frequent exclamations, along with "Maceo!" and "Give me one!" ... or "...two" or "...three" or "...four!" The number corresponds to the number of "hits" to be delivered from his horn section over the rhythm section's riff. This last one is often heard while he is "breaking it down."

James Brown - Brother Rapp (Part 1) lyrics
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Baby, here I come Baby, here I come Baby, baby, baby, baby Baby, baby, baby, yeah
Baby, here I come Baby, here I come, hey Baby, here I come
I want you Good God, to sit down Put your hand across your lap Get yourself together I'm ready

quote:

James Brown: "Bobby! Should I take 'em to the bridge? Take 'em to the bridge? (Go 'head!) hit me now! Come on! Stay on the scene, a-like a sex machine!"

I used to live on new bridge road, right next to old bridge road, funny thing is that there is no bridge on or near either road. Apparently the bridge never existed so I stopped looking.
