Actually I have found stainless/stainless to be a problem on several fasteners/fittings on my boat, and on hardware where I work.
I learned this the hard way. After seizing and snapping 5 bolts, I went back to the fastener store to ask what gives. They said Stainless to Stainless ALWAYS should use a lube. Locktite is good, or wd40. They said even spit works, just ANYTHING to keep the threads wet.
I wouldn't bother taking it all back apart to locktite them, just check them every gas stop for the first few weeks. |

Here is how I did it. (sorry Doc, I couldn't afford the trick mounts you picked  .
You have to mount the rear using the inside hole so the lid will go on.
You can see how everything fits perfect without modifications.
$1.50 for a pair at the depot. |

What stops them from rotating with that setup Towpro? Just curious because I like that setup but am worried it could rotate into the tire |

I put one tube on a little crooked, and had to twist it pretty hard to get it to move. I will keep an eye on them. The rubber to steel frame grip is pretty good.
If you hit them on something while riding (or crashing) they are going to swing, maybe enough to prevent them from breaking off.
Note: You will need a wisher on both sides of the plastic foot of the operator tube.
If you don't, the clamp will deform as it gets pressed into the hole on the tube.
I love these clamps. I made a clutch cable clamp to retrofit the wire cable guide in front of the motor (this was updated by Buell around 08 I think, but my clamp works perfect for 75 cents). I have a little ham radio antenna mounted with one. Some times I run with a little dash board that clamps onto the handlebar cross bar with 2 of these.
