Apologize in advance for a dumb question: Getting an 1125CR soon and looking at slip-on exhausts. Can the stock ECM be re-programmed by the dealer to tune the fuel/air delivery or does one need to get a race ECM, ProTune, etc? Thank you....Peter |

"CAN" it be....yes. "WILL" they do any reprogramming...not likely. It's called "Big Brother". EPA, Government, etc. You have a few options, do a search, you'll find them. Also, check out the EBR (Erik Buell Racing) site. You can now buy a ready to go ECM...just connect and go. I know one guy that is VERY happy with his. Mike |

Hey Ride, I just had the Jardine put on. Tested with the Stock ECM runs ok. EBR race ECM..dont know yet. I was not there but dyno guys at the HD shop/ and print out show a huge loss of power at 4k. not sure what the deal is but i will scan the dyno sheets and post and send to EBR to see what they say. so for now the stock is back in. On a personal note i ran it yesterday at Firebird raceway here in phoenix and was not disapointed. matter of fact i liked the sound very much seems more powerful than i need and as we know the Buell can build your confidence very quickly.....i low sided first lap on my second session. Bikes good and so am i. Take this for what its worth but i like the look and sound of the carbon jardine very much and will probably keep it even though it will end up costing me a couple HP in the end. Tim |

Seriously - send EBR a note asking which intake/exhausts with which THEY have had good success. Seems that a lot of people decide which intake/exhaust to buy and then go out and try tuning... but if you KNEW which combination was proven to work and work WELL - that would be what you should buy. There's an "contact" link on their website http://www.ebracing.com/ Just realize that there are only like a half dozen full-time folks working at Erik Buell Racing so there might not be an INSTANT email response - but they DO respond. |
