Can I remove the carbon canister on my xb? Will it cause any check engine lights at all? I am looking for a little more storage area and then eventually putting a xb9s tail section on the bike. And I have a feeling that that would have to go. Speaking of that, is the seat frame different for the xbs than it is for the xbr? |

You can remove it with no ill effect. It's just a tank vent fume remover. the 49 state bikes don't have it. The set frame on the S is those cast rails you can see from the outside. The R has a less cosmetic tube frame because it is completely hidden by the bodywork. Al |

When I pull the canister, what do i do with the hoses? Just plug them? I haven't looked at it so I don't know off hand how many there are (1 or 2) and where they go or come from. |

Keep the one that goes from the tank breather, let it run to some place where it can breathe and drip a drop of gas if parked in the sunlight. Yank everything else. I'm extrapolating from Tube frame canister yanking procedures, I assume the XBs do it similar though. Al |
