Has anyone seen an aftermarket solution for replacing the headlight/flyscreen setup on an 1125CR? If I pull the headlight and screen, I'm left with all the wiring floating around loose. So I'm thinking someone must make a sort of micro-fairing/numberplate setup that could be attached--and if it used the same mounts/screws that would be extra cool. But if I had to ziptie the bastid, that'd be ok too. The point of this (and related pieces for which I search) is to see what it'd cost in $ and time (night before track day) to convert from clean/perfect/pretty street bike to "I don't have to worry about low side crashes" track day bike. I'm hoping to figure out a way (with quick connector/dzus fasteners etc) to make the whole thing a TRANSFORMER that I can get done in a couple hours, so when I suddenly find my available time coincides with an open track day slot, I can just pull the string and go. So far I've picked up some pre-scratched bodywork from ebay for cheap (still looking for other pieces). I'm gonna spend a few minutes with 600grit de-scratching it enough so it doesn't look like a total garbage wagon in the photos. After Daytona I'll probably get wheels from a certain racer friend and shoe 'em with slicks, and so on. Most of the stuff is straightforward -- it's the headlight/flyscreen solution I'm seeking now. Thanks steve |

You answered your own question. Just look (e-bay ?) for another headlight assembly and fly screen. OR...break down and buy a second set...new...for the track. Remove all of the electronics from the light assembly, paint it the color of your bike...done. It's similar plastic as the rest of the bike, so the "powers that be" at your track shouldn't have a problem doing it this way. Maybe check with them first. Mike |

This is the only pic I've seen of a CR in race trim and is probably exactly what you're looking for. This bike looks awsome IMO but who knows where the parts are available if at all. I think I found the pic from this site and its labeled "big buell vanguard rocket team" It almost looks like the headlight is blacked it with electrical tape or something but that's also a different fly screen. |

Blur: That DOES look totally cool! I see what they did with the headlight, but I wonder who makes that screen? This shot is from Italy right? ("dove la forza" etc). I guess I was hoping for some single piece/blank numberplate type set up that would easily/quickly cover the wiring and as a single piece o'plastic, be cheaper and more disposable than the solution 1-Mike suggested above. The belly pan is cool too. But the high bars as shown in the pic, while great for street riding, make it hard to get under the paint and hang way off in corners the way I like to at the track. I'm gonna get a set of clubmans if I can find em cheap enough. |
