I've had the new style in for probably 4 years and 30+K miles. Do they wear our? |

They do. Proper tension helps prolong their life. Only way to know is to check. I have 50K on mine, and its fine. |

I checked mine at 47,000 miles and it was fine. |

The shoe wears to a certain point and stops wearing. The chain sideplates cut into it, until they reach the depth of the rollers. At that point, wear on the shoe stops. |

That is because the chain has grove'ed the plastic to where the chain in now properly loose and dose not grove the plastic any more ... |
