I don't know if it is true or not, but I heard that there is a HUGE dealer markup on the D&D
product line. What I was asking is what is the best price anyone has come across? Or is $535 the best they can be bought for? Different manufacturers "suggested markup" varies greatly. Is the D&D muffler a product that seems too expensive if sold for close to "Sugg. Retail", but has room for a substantial discount and still allow for a profit? Many custom chopper products would reap 100-200% markups if sold at "retail"

Az28,

I got my D&D from my dealer (Brunswick, NY) at 15% off. That means I got it for $505. See what your dealer will do. I was really surprised by the way he gave me the discount....like it was no problem (not even a second thought)...I probably could've have gotten more off.

Thats the range I had heard of. Thats More in the Drummer range. At that price, I would buy it right away. Why don't suppliers offer it at a competitive price and sell more? I never like to buy from someone when I know they are asking the most they think the market will bear. In my business, I try to offer the best products & service I Can at a reasonable price. I'm not the cheapest and I don't overcharge. Customers trust me and come back for more, as well as send their friends. To bad D&D and others don't see it that way. It's the "old school" AMERICAN WAY!
