Yeah I remember all that stuff, people arguing about the danger of the course ect.... But I never got an idea if a Buell had been raced there. As far as I know there is no "twins" class and only twins I've seen in videos are Ducatis and one of the Britten ( Mark Farmer : Killed ) back in the 90's. In modern times no Guzzi's, BMW's,or Buells/ Harleys?

I have the last two on DVD and almost everyone was on an IL4 bike. No KTM's, No Duc's, Aprilia's, Guzzi's wouldn't cut it, the BMW fast enough to race that course is an IL4 and the last time Harley won a meaningful International race was back to back 250cc world championships in 1975 and 1976, I don't think in the four stroke era that HD has competed at the ISLE, but you never know, someone may have snuck Lucifer's Hammer on to the Isle for a test run.

Yeah, I knida doubt about the "Hammer" being over there. But things are almost impossible to find out about that bike it's like it's become a "ghost story".

I thought I saw a 1198 Ducati in a round this past race ( 2009 ), but I could be wrong.
Anyway thanks for the info.....steve

Kevin "Ago" Murphy got a sponsor to buy one but it never ran there. Kevin was at the end of his career and couldn't get himself approved for entry (he ended up racing a believe on a 600). to top it off the bike, an XB, really didn't have the speed needed. The top end was really lacking.

Hi Gang, Well that Buell is still here sitting in PAB,s workshop and has never turned a wheel in anger since it was bought in early 07. I have asked Peter if i could race it in MGP over the TT mountin course but the organisers have a limit of up to 1050cc so wont let it run unless we were to enter it as an Buell 1000 which i dont know weather they ever built one. Im racing a Rebadged Hyosung in this years MGP as a United Motors V2S 650 but again not a buell all the best for the coming season and thanks again for all your support Irish Ago.

Kevin, this likly won't help but the 1987 Buell RR1000 was under 1000 CC.

More to the point Buell did sell the XB9R which was well under 1000 cc. They are visually the same with just a differnt badge. You would need to be very knowledgable indeed, or measure the CCs, to be able to tell the difference.

You would not be the first to run the 1200 motor labeled as a 900. Fairly common in the old 883 sportster class. Of course if you are foolish enough to podium with 1200 you will be disqualified and more than a bit embarassed.
