Bob, I disagree, acceleration enrichment should take care of that. "...jamming the throttle open at the lower rpm ranges and it will always show a lean spike" |

i am gonna buy one..i have no interest in having extra HP..i'd prefer better driveability...so what if it makes a few less hp...I can't and wouldn't know the difference anyway unlike some of the people here *(the bike has WAY more hp than i will ever need anyway) Thats what I did with my PCV. I had the guy tune it for driveability and not max hp. It still made just under 127whp and is actually pleasant to ride. |

Xelerator. Chris, I believe its not so much the enrichment thats needed. You can accomplish that; but rather how much the velocity of air into the engine is slowed so dramatically that the engine falls flat and with practically no air flow there is no fuel also, hence the lean condition. We know that the air is needed to suspend and atomize fuel and carry it into the combustion chamber. Rolling on a little slower allows the air flow to gain velocity to over ride this. Also another thing that restricts air flow at low rpm's is more then likely a high overlap on the valve timing for very high performance type engines. Its very hard to find that perfect compromise to have very good low rpm response and still produce high H.P. as our 1125's do which is excellent for a V-twin. I think EBR has done just that at least now without EPA restrictions. Just my take though. Bob |

The pressure drop makes the engine fall flat but the mapping (acceleration enrichment table) would keep the A/F slightly rich. Maybe one of the DDFI-2 gurus can chime in and make us smarter. Chris |

I just wanne add a little info on this threat, to make something clear, that if you put the right amount of fuel in every fuel cell, I doesn't matter if it is a race or a stock ECM, it will drive gorges’ on the street, There is not a really difference. So LET THAT BE CLEAR. It Takes about 5 days to make a good fuelmap for a new setup. To have it Monkey proof |

Wow, five days. That is a LOT of work. I don't understand why anyone would actuate the throttle from low rpm's as if it were a light switch. Anyone who knows how to ride well, knows at low engine speeds to roll on the throttle, not just whack it wide open all of a sudden. |
