Check out the orange glow from behind the sprocket. Then look at his right foot. This is called "Traction Control." This is how super-mortals control 250hp.

That glowing thing is the brake?! I guess that is what is referred to as "trail braking". Wasn't it Eddie Lawson who used to bend the rear brake lever up and out of the way? |

Thought Niky's new ride landed him Alpinestars when he was on the team bike... |

Also a great display of what real "hanging off" actually looks like. He's darn near having to pull in his left elbow to keep from dragging it. That is unreal. |

Why is there a center exhaust pipe AND an exhaust pipe on the right side? |

I believe that orange glow is from the ...orange rims. the 2 exhaust pipe in different spots might have something to do with tuned length. they were experimenting last year with different pipes at HRC |

Oh, I see. The orange "glow" is actually the sun shining through the spokes and hitting the center hub of the wheel. The angle of the shadow has the sun pointing from the right. |

Sorry guys about the Joe Rocket gear I did not know he changed this year. That V-5 engine is very interesting, saw it at Daytona this year. THAT would be a bike to take to a track day |

That's his rear brake rotor all aglow. I saw a much clearer picture of Rossi doing the same thing in an Alpinestar ad. The exhaust pipe by the rear brake pedal is the added pipe Honda used to bump horsepower when Ducati started getting too close. I've read where the RCV's project leader said he's got another 15% left in the motor if needed. Okay.... |

Those aren't teeth, those are fins in the middle of a brakeplate sandwich. |

Which, as Blake was trying to illustrate, is on the wrong side to be the glowing orange rear brake. |

I mean it should be obvious from the first picture. Why would anyone go to the trouble of routing the rods, connections, hangers, tubes and what not to the opposite side of the bike....right???? edited by sbelleque on April 01, 2004 |

lemme see . . .. my MaDeuece has the brake pedal on the, er, right side . . . . .. the rotor is, mmmmm, on the left side, the only thing routed to the oposite side of the scoot is a hose . . . . no big thing to do that (although it's clear that Honda didn't, in this case) |

This isn't hard to figure out. The chain is on the left, the brake is on the right. Drive on one side, brake on the other. Except for bikes with single sided swingarms I think that is the norm, |
