Hey guys- As many of you know, last month I bought a wrecked 08 1125r. I have since put it back together and have been riding the hell out of it with no problems. Today I noticed a slight, very slight, trail leaking from the right side clutch cover. Now this piece was damaged when I bought the bike, I did not replace it because it was expensive and didn't seem to be leaking. I know the damage looks bad but no seals seamed to be broken. I have put over 600 miles on in the last few weeks and have not noticed any leakage at all, and believe me I have been checking. Today after a short putt through town,I noticed a slight leak. Now I'm curious if a little bit is normal or if I need to fix this damn part (which I can't afford right now) any advice would be appreciated. thank you

The leaking is actually a common problem from the clutch. There has been several fixes out there and if you still have warranty then you might be able to get it taken care off. see here. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/475755.html Now if you can convince them it was not caused by the wreck. A stand up service should fix it since its a known issue. I had mine replaced twice under warranty. |

Xbswede- I have read about the weep problems being covered by warranty. Was just curious if anyone thought it was from the damage. I have a really good relationship with my dealer (latus HD) and hope they can warranty it for me. thank you for the advice. I will head up there today |

The damage just looks cosmetic, shouldn't be causing the leak, so the dealer should be able to hook you up. |

IDK man it sure looks like there is a crack that runs on the bottom where all the small chunks are taking out. Is that where its leaking? If you want a cheap fix throw some JB Weld on it and it should seal it up! |

I agree it looks cracked there but that is not where the leak is coming from. The leak is coming from above that, from the inner ring/lip (sorry not sure what to call it) but it seems to collect up there and than run down. |

Your gonna have a hard time getting that warrantied. Even if it looks just cosmetic, the impact could have caused the seals to tear or move causing it to leak. |

I put about a hundred miles on today. when I got back I checked the leak, it is def not coming from the cracked part, the leak (very small) is coming from inside the lip. it pools up in there and than drips down the case. |
