Anyone wanna help me trouble shoot my high idle? She's been idling over 1500rpm since new. California 2009 1125R bought in late october 3000miles so far. Changes performed in a step wise fashion since new include -new flash - FMF slip on with quiet core in multiple positions - currently FMF slip on without quiet core insert - EBR ECM yesterday STILL idles fast and now it is solid at 1700rpm I really do not want to put back to stock and take it to the dealer. sigh. any thoughs? I have an extra battery laying around. Any chance this might help? when idling my voltage reads 13.6-13.8. when the bike is off battery voltage is usually 11.8 or so. I will se if i can look at the IAC steps in diagnostic mode later today. thanks for helping me trouble shoot todd |

I'd call EBR and ask them, they're the one's who set the idle and would know where it should really be. |

Reset TPS? Should be done regardless when changing the ECM. |

You might also want to verify the clutch switch status in diagnostic mode - with the clutch out, the idle is bumped up a bit for (insert reason here) - IIRC it bumps up to 1700-1800 RPM with the clutch switch indicating that the clutch is engaged. |

TPS reset done.... a lot. just in case. diagnostic mode has clutch as either 0 or 1. and with the new ECM it does not raise the idle when letting the clutch out.... or say COLD COLD COLD COLD until 155 degrees |

When in diagnostic mode toggled to the IAC step screen I start the (already warmed up) bike it reads with IAC at 85-95 steps. dunno what this means. I think my charging sys is okay with volt meter at 13.7-13.9 when running. not sure. Soooooo I emailed EBR about what it should idle at with their ECM. I PM a badweber that seems to have had a similar problem a while back asking if it was resolved then i pulled the throttle body hoping for a goopy, dirty IAC..... it looks clean and perfect my question is...... anyone needed to replace this part? i think I will (if its 20-30 bucks) just to see anyone else commiserate with me on the high idle? todd |
