I am looking for a more comfortable seat that does not add to the height of the seat. Any experience out there?

I've had 4 seats on mine. The low seat was nice for 20 minutes then, well it was A pain in the ... The select seat is very nice for long rides, but with more "spirited" riding it pushed me forward and the wife wants A baby.. The sport seat is my favorite. It's sits back a little more and takes a little pressure off the knees and has more padding than the low scg seat, thought not as much as the select seat. I ended up with A standard S seat in A package deal for parts but have not tried it out yet. If you were closer I'd let you try them out. I would try seeing if somebody in your area might let you try one. Maybe offer A beer or something for the time? It would suck to shell out 200 and not like it.

Thanks Thomas, I looked as some of these on Buells website, but I was not clear if they would even fit the scg! But apparently at least these will fit my bike.

the select seat is what i switched to. it was just barely an increase in height, but way more comfortable.

The "Sport" seat should only fit the SS.

So...we are saying that the Sport won't fit a SCG but the select seat will?

Any seat made for the CityX, S and Scg will fit. Seats for a TT or SS will not fit, as they have a different tail section.

Just went through this myself for a 2010 Scg.

I checked the US and EU accessories list and they were the same.

From what it says on the website(s)the Sport is only for the SS /STT not the Scg.

I tracked down a new Select seat which was the only gel seat listed for our bikes.

Hope this helps!

Thank you gentlemen! Your help has been greatly appreciated! A badweb sponsor also contacted me about a Baldwin gel seat.
I looks like some quality workmanship, but
it is a little expensive. But it might be
be the way to go. We will see what the budget has to say!!

wfhaag, i've suggested this to plenty of fellow bikers and they all were extremely suprised by the great results... Keep your current seat for the time being- try out a pair of gel-padded compression bicycling shorts as your 1st layer (definitely wear something over them)! If i had to pick between my select seat and the shorts, i'd definitely pick the shorts. Not the most manly thing ever, but certainly the smartest!

Krueger08xb12s, thanks for the suggestion.
I live in north central Minnesota and it is a little snowy up here yet. However, I think I will check out your idea before I purchase a different seat. (can't hurt!) It will be a couple of months before the snow melts before I can try it out.
