Does anyone know the short Buell part number for front and rear pads for a 2000 X-1. Thanks Andrew |

forget the factory pads - get the EBC HH pads for front and rear and you will be much happier with your brakes. Better feel, especially from the rear, less fade and no black residue on the disk hampering your stopping ability and causing pulsing.... |

To me the HH's on my S3 feel more aggressive and require less lever effort compared to the Lyndall Gold's on the X1 but the Lyndall's are seem more rotor friendly. |

For the 2000 X1, use either FA249HH for street or GFA249HH for track. These are the front brake pad part numbers for EBC brakes. |

You want these from American Sport Bike; #5432HH 98-02 Brake Pads Front Nissin EBC Sintered HH - $39.95 American Sport Bike lists these for the back, but I am not sure if they are the HH ones I have (Al will know - give them a call) #5433 98-07 Brake Pads, Rear, EBC Black - $25.95 (Message edited by scott_in_nh on January 27, 2010) |

I would trust the info from Eboos. Your local Parts Unlimited vendor should be able to get them (that is where I got mine) and can verify the PN's... if you have only ridden your Buell with stock pads - you are in for a treat! |

IF you're riding street / commuting I'd recommend ORGANIC pads. IF you do aggressive riding / track days then use sintered (HH) pads. While great in braking power, they are "grabby" when cold... which will give you a surprise when your riding to work in the morning and a car pulls in front of you... |

I ordered EBC HH yesterday off EBAY.If things go well I will have them installed for Bike Week.If they are to grabby I will go back to the organic on the front. Thanks for the input. Andrew |

So for perspective...how do the EBCs compare to...say...a stock XB system? I run all stock on my Uly, pads and rotors. I have an EBC front rotor on the S2, with stock pads. If I can get closer to the XB stopping-power-wise by swapping pads...I'll do that next time 'round. Anyone have comparison data? |
