I just recently purchased an 06 uly and have been happy thusfar with two small concerns. First, just off idle the bike seems to fall on it's face a little, almost like it's too rich??? Second, it's way to quiet. So my questions is this, will an aftermarket air filter that allows more flow fix the off idle situation and will an exhaust intended for any of the other XB bikes fit the ULY? I see alot of them on the web and was wondering. I don't want anything TOO loud, just a little wake up would be nice. Also is a slip on pipe just that simple or am I going to have to have the fueling worked on as well when adding the pipe. I am not familiar with the Buell Fueling system. Thanks for the help. | ||

Welcome to the club! First thing I would do is get the Throttle Position Sensor reset to 0. You can pay the dealer to do this, or buy the cable, download ecmspy to your laptop and do it yourself. it looks like you are in Mi? Before doing anything Major (besides the TPS reset), I would let it get warmer first (read: Spring) and see if it runs any better. As far as too quiet. That's one of the things I like most about my Uly. | ||

+1 on the Welcome. Definitely get the ECMSPY & cable - you'll find all you need here. Also, I know what you mean about the sound - the Drummer works great for me - love the sound. Slips right on, but do buy new straps. Enjoy!!!!! | ||

Thanks for the welcome. I split my time between MI and Savannah GA which is where I keep the Buell. I have a B-King to ride in MI  So it's actually warm down there right now. Well warmer than MI. Thanks for the tip, I will get the ECM spy and cable right away, and start looking for the exhaust. |
