I'm in the process of changing to 08 triple clamps and changed the oil and installed 07 springs. I have a couple of questions. Even setting the level at 172mm I still used most of 2 pints of type E fork oil. Does this sound correct? I have the Traxxion Dynamics oil level tool. What do you use to clean the fork oil out of it? BTW, it's the first time and I was somewhat intimidated even after studying the various write-ups, but the second fork only took about 10-15 minutes. Oh, one other question. What do you all use to keep the damper up while compressing the spring? Dennis |

Oh, one other question. What do you all use to keep the damper up while compressing the spring? You gotta be fast!! If you have stroked the rod till oil is coming out then pull it all the way up and and put the tube over it quickly and then grab it again and pull up. Now you can pull the tube down quickly and put your shim under the jam nut depending on what your using to collapse the spring. |

Tie a string to it and pull it up after you get the spring compressed. |
