anyone have the stock airbox set up on or off the bike..i picked up a airbox set up..not sure if it all there or how to mount..also looking for the left side set up any info is greatly appreciated JT | ||

I have the stock intake. Its currently off the bike.But its all there. I am not a mechanic but if youd like I could give it my best to help you out.What do you wanna know? | ||

You should have a bracket that goes on the carb and has two holes for the breather bolts. A paper gasket that goes between this bracket and the backplate. Then a metal mounting ring and another paper gasket. Then the plastic snorkel and then a metal half-ring. Three bolts hold it all together with two going over the half-ring. Yeah that's kind of confusing. Then on the other side there's the filter and a plastic filter box with two long bolts that hold them in place. The filter end of the snorkel goes into the filter box with a rubber gasket ring that fits in the hole on the filter box. There is a rubber seal that goes around the whole filter box between the box and the backplate. There are two screws and nuts that hold the front of the backplate to the front engine brace (that tab sticking out but some have already been cut off so you may or may not have that). The front breather bolt goes over the backplate, the back breather bolt is outside of the backplate so it just goes against the metal bracket that went onto the carb. The back breather has a hose that routes into the hole on the backplate from behind and it tee's into the front breather hose that then connects to the nipple on the snorkel. There is a rubber seal that goes around the entire outer cover and that bolts onto the backplate with four screws. Two one size and two a different size. It works well but is a pain to put together and take apart when needed. This is from memory so I hope I didn't leave anything out. | ||

if you are talking about the left side setup on an x1, there is nothing on the left side of the cyclone. air box is all on the right. | ||

My scanner isn't working, but if you pm me your address I'll burn a copy of the exploded view from the parts book and drop it in the mail for you, should only take a couple days to get to you. Maybe I can take a decent photo of the book and post that. For wet weather riding I like the modified stock air box. Remove snorkel, cut down the filter housing or make a plate to cross between the two long bolts and use a K&N stock replacement filter. Seems to breath fine and doesn't bog down because the filter has become saturated. | ||

 I had my airbox painted to match the Gloss Black of the bike. I have a custom air filter and neck inside the box. REX | ||
