That's what it sounds like. "Engine Control Module for 1125 model motorcycles with race exhaust systems. This ECM also works with motorcycles that have both race exhaust systems and a free flowing air filter." |

Based on previous posts, it sounds like it will come mapped for the Buell Race pipe. Your best bet is to get the programmable one so it can be setup for your bike. |

Reducati, I've got the same setup as you. Which ECM did you order? Are you going to replace the air filter? Can't wait to hear how it works! |

Well, it would be better than the stocker, even if it's not perfect. The only way to do that is a custom tune... But I bet it would friggin rip, with just any aftermarket pipe. R |

Do you still have to have a race license to order them????? |

No they are marketed for track day or race use only. That's why you get a new ecm so you can swap out when on the track and back to stock on the street. |

How much are they now? |

Well that's how they can sell it to you without a competition license. Track days only. |

I'll be watching this thread carefully to see how they perform. I also wonder if the O2 sensors are disconnected for its use. I imagine yes. Opinions? At $250.00 it sounds like a gift from Erik. Bob |

I thought $250 was way to good to be true look closer if you want the programing capibilitys price jumps to $750 the $250 one comes with only one map and if you want to add the programing capibility later its going to require shipping it back so they can sync the software to the licencing agreement |

If it kills fuel economy and day to day drivabilty, then you can bet your ass I would be swapping it. For a while I was doing that with ECMspy on my XB till I got my map perfect for both types of riding. |

They JUST got released....I don't think anyone has one just yet. I doubt very seriously they'd bypass the O2 circuits. You get a much better map and much better response in closed loop with active feedback...if the code is written properly. And being "for race use only", they can write for *performance*, not for the EPA. In other words..."written properly". I have a feeling that the 152 flash for CR and its matching R flash were but a sneak-peek at what we might have in store in the race ECMs. (Message edited by ratbuell on January 22, 2010) |

I need more info regarding this ECM. I need to know if it's a rpm tps based tune " alpha n style" or a speed density style just reprogrammed air fuel values and a better map. Or is it a speed density style that has the 02s disabled and runs a base map. What is it? Not enough info for me to buy. But whoever gets it have your bike dynoed before and after and report back. I'll email and ask some questions.I need a description of the item before I buy anything. |

I'd be willing to bet the O2 sensors are turned off in the race ecm.... the O2 sensors only read from 14.5-15.3 or something, the windows on those O2 sensors is so narrow they are completely worthless except for idle and cruise.. good find though, this could be a good alternative.. |

Most full race exhaust doesn't have a place for O2 does it? |

Yeap in the rear header... most of the time there is a plug there.. the race ecm ignores the O2 sensors.. O2 sensors are just for the EPA and emissions.. |

Narrow band sensors are worthless! Wideband is the way to go. And i hope that ECM is speed density... I don't like alpha N.... |

I'm sort of wondering what this means for tuners out there. From what I can tell, you can order the ECM with a preset for the exhaust and filter but that can't be tuned. The option is to buy the software and ECM but it seems they have some sort of link between the ECM and the software license which implies that the software will only work with a single ECM. So, a shop that wanted to tune Buells would have to buy a license and ECM for any bike they wanted to work on? Essentially, the customer is going to pay $750 before any tuning work is done? |
