Ryan. My friend called but she was working and couldn't talk long. I asked her about the hot springs and she said there are "lots" of them. She'll call me tomorrow so I hope I have some info for you. Glad you're enjoying your bicycle John. Have fun tomorrow. |

Unfortunately, working. But both Dan and I are taking Friday off so hopefully the weather holds up. |

Looking at the next weekend, the weather portion of the news wasn't real encouraging... But then what's their success rate for prediction been anyway. Hopefully, we get some more time to play before the next big snows. |

I was watching the weather too and hopefully they are wrong. Must be nice to have a job that doesn't depend on being right all the time. LOL. This weekend was soooo nice to get out, esp in January. |

We got out for a short ride today. Went to eat in Falcon

It was alittle damp out, it's funny since we got home I haven't been able to warm up....was a fun ride though, we did just under 50 miles round trip which was perfect for today....I did something for the first time today on a bike, I dropped both arms for a second and went no handed...I have never done that before even with my Harley ...it was fun...the bike stayed completely straight!! Julie once I start working and get some money saved up, I am reading to do a track day on my XB....i think it is time for me to go from that "average rider"...to a confident and very good one.. |

Ahhhhhh... Felt good to get out on the 1125R today. Between surgery and maintenance I really haven't been able to do much. Was a bit colder today than this weekend, but in the end still was good. |

Got out for a ride today. Roads are good up here but was cold in the hills. Bike runs better than new. Still in love with the XB after all those miles on her. |

No doubt about it that the 1125 based motorcycles are fine bikes and well engineered. It is really too bad about the prototype bike running around WI that Buell will never get to build. On a S2 site that I manage one of the former BMC employees said that thing ran like a "raped ape" (I think that means fast). I have about 500 miles on the R and need to take it in to address the error messages and I will at the scheduled service but it still runs great so it does not bother me. The ergos are just like the XB12R so I will not be riding it any kind of distance until I get different bars for it. I already lowered the pegs. Frank |

Took my 1125R out today too, it was about a three hour ride. It was a great ride...and now with about 900 miles on her, we are just starting to get used to each other! My previous ride last week I had some error code(s) too. After reading a Badweb thread about 1125's barely having any coolant in them, I decided to check this out. And sure enough, even though I had the 1000 km service done last month, there was almost no coolant in the reservoir. I filled it up this past weekend and checked other fluids as well as the suspension settings...and everything was great today. |

I am so jealous of all you guys that got out today. Oh well, someone's gotta bring in the dough (sp). Lynn, I've already pulled up the schedule of the open track days at High Plains raceway and as soon as the weather starts getting nicer, I'll be scheduling my lesson with Mark. I can't wait. Check with Chicane Track Days. They do several track days that include some instruction. If I do them again I'm going in the beginner class. The intermediates gets a boost of testosterone as the day goes on and it got kinda scary out there with them in the afternoon. So, back to the beginner for me!!!!! Plus, with a new beast under me, I'd rather take it a little slower to start out. hahahaha, No really. John, we need to swap bikes sometime this summer. Whatta ya think???? I still love my little blue, it's me. Hope I never have to sell either one of them. |

Just to feel better, here's some pic's of yesterdays ride to Palmer Lake. This is at the ice cream store that we go to on a regular basis. (unfortunately they're closed until March)
John, I had to turn the bar ends up this way, cause going down I had a real hard time seeing. With them up, I may be able to take off the right mirror.
We also ordered a fender eliminator so it should get shipped out tomorrow. That tail piece has got to go. (Message edited by jumpinjewels on January 18, 2010) |

Julie, is there any special gear required for that class and is there a web site that explains everything? Steve, thanks for the tip, I guess I will check the coolant level. |

Frank, for the true beginners, full leathers are not required but Lynn would need boots that go over her ankles, the leathers she wears might be ok, I think she would need gauntlet gloves. Go to Chicanetrackdays.com. I've gotten online but I don't think they're up and running yet for this season, just keep checking. I actually sent them an email a while ago as I had a question and haven't heard back from them. I would think they should be posting their schedule soon. Ryan, I talked to my friend in Steamboat. She said there are two places. One is the Steamboat Springs Health and Rec which is in town 970-879-1828. The other one is called Strawberry Park Hot Springs. You would need a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get up there or they do have vans that go up. After 7pm if you're over 16 years old you can go naked Their # is 970-879-0342. They also have something called Full Moon where they do drumming and dancing performances. She said it's really cool. Hope this helps. |

Thanks Jewels. I got your PM also. The info helps. Did she say both of those places are nice? Kinda looking to do it away from the city a bit. Just me and the new wifey. |

Ryan, sounds like the Strawberry hot springs might work for you. She said there were several different springs there and ones with different temps too. And you can jump in the river too. |

Awesome, I looked up some reviews on it and all seem to be positive. So, I think that's the route I will go. |

Julie, bike looks great and will be even better with out the rear fender thing. Bike swap sounds like a plan. |

It's all good Ryan, forks aren't due till 18k. I made a fluid-level tool for the forks for Ray last year as (small)partial payment on the Drummer. I have enough parts for another one, you can use it when you're due... it'll be built by then. Y'all been busy here the last few days, lots to catch up on. Little brother is here now with my old Firebolt and I'm kinda occupied. Z |

Julie, will the R/CR tails take the Firebolt under-sections? I never changed my Firebolt away from stock and am pretty happy with the profile of it. I have the stock turn signals and license plate mount. |

CJ, I'm not sure. We ordered the fender eliminator that uses the stock turn signals but I still may change them out to the ones I have on front. I really like the new ones, a little bit smaller and I think are brighter. |

My understanding is that there is a difference between the underside of the tail on Firebolts and the 1125's. I don't think products are interchangeable. And yes, the stock tail fender things on the 1125's are pretty ugly... I picked up the Evotech tail tidy for my 1125R. It uses the stock signals, looks really clean and is a snap to install. If you're interested, I'll post a snapshot of it when I get home tonight. -Tod |

Yes Tod...post some pictures. I have been eye-balling the Evotech, Jardine, and the Precision Engineering version. I think that I like the Evotech the best...but just haven't pulled the trigger yet. |

So, how was your "brrrrr" ride today Zack? Was thinking about you while sitting on my butt talking to people about their illnesses. I'd rather be riding, even if it's cold out (well maybe not) LOL |
