For those of you who have the side fairing kit, and would really like a belly pan...be patient! EMAIL Erik (Or Whomever this may reach), First off, happy holidays and congrats on this new chapter in your life. I wish you the best of luck and look forward to buying some great parts from your team in the future. I realize this past quarter has been a roller coaster ride from hell for you and your team up there in East Troy and I encourage you to hang in there and keep up the great work. I have a question/suggestion for you. I'm not sure if BMC had ever planned to release a belly pan for the injected plastic molding "lowers" kit before HD decided to kill the whole company, but since you now are getting EBR up and running I wanted to ask if in the next year perhaps maybe you could give us that final piece? Not sure what other hurdle you would have to go through, and many of us are patient enough to wait as long as it takes. I would buy the complete body work from you but I can't afford the high end stuff at the moment and justify using it for track days throughout the year. I thought maybe a good idea to bridge that gap for the normal guy and provide you with some extra cash *hopefully* would be to suggest that you create a belly pan that fits up the BMC lowers for the 1125r and sell it when you get up and running. Put this on the bottom of your "to do" list. I can only imagine that your team has more than enough stuff to worry about before the start of next season. I cannot WAIT to see you get out on the track and start kicking butt the AMERICAN way. V/R, Cory B. Gober SSG, USA RESPONSE Cory, Thank you for your support...of our company and our country. We will be looking soon at exactly what you are suggesting. It will be a little while as we have to get the race parts supply business going for what we have now, and specifically get a lot of things done for racers starting their season in February. ***Sentence Deleted*** Best to you, Customer Support Erik Buell Racing *** I removed the sentence with the time frame. It's not my business and I just wanted to let others know that something is/will be in the works. If Anony wants to post specifics they can, but I am not comfortable putting out a time frame or time lines considering a great number of people are impatient and tend to wriggle in the whole "you said it would be done by this time" and so on. Be patient and give EBR a chance. *** So take it as you will. I'm excited to see what they come up with and perfectly content with what I have now knowing something eventually will be in the works. I thought it best to share this in case anyone was curious about finishing up their fairings and has the patience to wait a little while for something to come out. So, hold on to that cash and let's see what comes out. |

Great! Thanks for the post, you beat me to asking the same question. I'd be happy if there was a belly pan option by Mid year 2010... Edit: Actually I'm just happy knowing there will be an option for a belly pan! (Message edited by unique_id on January 12, 2010) |

No problem. Like you, it just makes me feel a little better when you know something will be coming along... and that makes the wait even more enjoyable. |

That was very smart Geforce. You just know someone would have come back at you for giving a date. |

Well, I honestly rewrote that post about 4 times trying to communicate the idea rather than specifics... I just hope if/when this happens there will be a great many of us that have the side fairing kit that take advantage of this and make it worth their while. |

That is great news. I have held off on the side fairings because I think it needs a belly pan of plastic to complete the look. If there was a waiting list for a complete set of plastics with plastic belly pan I would be on it for sure. Thanks for the recon!

Great post Geforce! I have been suggesting this everyplace I have ran into a Buell rep before the closure and was happy to see at least the fairing lowers introduced, but its just missing something to finish it off. This will be a great accessory for EBR when they come out. I would think the majority of 1125R owners will be lining up.... including myself. Great detail in your post! Can't wait! |

I'm in. I plan to own my 1125r forever so a little wait is no big deal. Thanks for the news. |

Oh it hurts to have to wait! Glad to hear the news about the belly pan though...just have to sit back now and watch the full race fairings zip around the track...I am also too poor and would being living in a cardboard box if the wife saw me bolting up the race plastic to the already forbidden R that just showed up in the garage one day! |

I'd actually be surprised if this ever happens. The 1125R is out of production and no more are being made. Don't know how many were sold in total or how many side panel kits were sold, but guessing it's not in the thousands for the side panels. The tooling to make a new belly pan would be many, many thousands of dollars and the return would be small to nil. MO, don't hold your breath......but I'm guessing that EBR will have more important things to spend money on. (I certainly would buy one if they become available though.....) it is possible that it will be a dual fit. Can be used with or without the side panels. Can be used for racing, i.e. people that race but don't want a full set of bodywork. Brings the overall number of bike it will work on. |

Rocket, I think there's already a belly pan that doesn't need body work. It was in the last Buell catalog, don't remember and too lazy to look if ebr is gonna offer it. |

It wouldn't be cheap to have tooling made..... but they most likely don't need to have it made.....hence the ama pace bike. Bellypan on our sides. I see something in the near future. |

Justin (Lastonetherebuys), here is one from Airtech in California, USA. It is good quality fiberglass and I used their stuff when I did my M2 seen in my profile. It has oil containment for racing. See their parts below then, Buell and 1125, I believe its the second item down. "www.airtech-streamlining.com" |
