Must be nice to have holidays. I...... must work. People never stop getting sick . Everyone wants antibiotics for their colds. We'll keep Lynn in our prayers about the job. Hope something comes up soon for her. Put that Master's degree to work!!! How's the non-smoking doing, Frank? |

I get to go to the dealership to get the right lower fairing replaced on Saturday then will take the "long" way home... perhaps through Palmer Lake. At least they have me schedule for 9AM. I just hope I am not sitting there for too long. -Tod |

Lynn got another rejection today but also had a great interview so keep your fingers crossed. We got out a bit. I rode Lynn's XB12Scg (that is one fun bike) and she rode her Harley. There was a lot of sand on the road so I thought it would be better for Lynn to be on the Harley so she could reach the ground better. I got the Uly out and the 1125. I did a oil change on the Uly. Tomorrow I hope to get a couple of S2s out on the road. |

So I was out on the 1125 and I stopped to get gas. I did not need gas but I have no way of telling since the gas light and check engine light is always coming on. I do not ride it much but can see it becoming my commuter bike and more. Anyway, when I stopped for gas two young guys on the other side of the gas pump seemed like they wanted to talk to me. They were both admiring the bike when the dude said "man, that is nice, Ducati?" LOL The thing says Buell all over it but I say "no its a Buell" and tell them to ride safe and clue them into the cop hiding a mile down the road.... Every Buell gets a different reaction... I have received my share of comments about Buell like; Does HD make those? (S1W) You have a headlight out. (Uly) Your BMW sounds great. (1996 S2T) When are you going to get a real bike. How about you all, anything good???

I've had a few "What is it?" but never anyone who thought it was a beemer or a duck. I have had a few who told me I should buy a Harley. |

Frank, I hope you can cheer Lynn up this weekend. Sue and I plan to go up to Cripple Creek to see the ice sculptures. |

Well, it may be too cold and windy to go out today. It might be hard getting up our driveway too. Picked up the toy hauler. Now just need warmer weather to get out. Will definitely keep Lynn in our prayers. There's something out there, it will happen. Yeah, that Scg is a hoot to ride. After being on the CR the Scg feels lighter and quicker. Just need to be on the CR more for it to feel more comfy. Soon, very soon. |

I got both S2s out today (at least the two that are running). The 1995 S2 (number 35 built) did great. It is amazing how much difference there is between the S2 and S2T because of the handle bars and foot pegs. Anyway when I rode the S2T I took the back roads down South and decided to hit the Interstate to come home (I-25). I thought I had ran out of gas near exit 132. I flipped to switch to reserve and it started to go again for less than a second. The bike died and I drifted to the side of the road.
I pushed the bike to the exit (there is nothing there) and called Lynn.
This is a familiar picture to S2 riders "Born to Lean"
I checked everything I could without tools or patience. I checked the gas and I had plenty so I tried the bike and it started. I figured it must be vapor lock so I traced the vent hose thinking it was pinched and it was not.
I was bored but I am sporty a new haircut and I shaved off the beard. A sign spring is on the way.
Lynn arrives and follows me home without incident.
I have no idea what went wrong. I was positive it was vapor lock.... Maybe the vent assembly coming out of the tank is bad. I just don't know but I will figure it out. |

Julie, thanks. I feel good. Lynn and I spent the last few hours in the Animal Emergency Room in Colorado Springs. Our older kitty broke her leg in two places. We are very sad right now and think her bones are brittle due to something else. We will know more tomorrow. We do not have kids so our furry kids mean a lot to us. |

Sorry to hear about your kitty. That's probably one reason Dan and I don't have animals. It's too sad to see them get sick or hurt. We actually buried Dan's dog on our property before we built the house. It was a very sad day putting her down. Don't want to do that again. I hope she gets well fast. |

Court, great to talk to you as well. Lynn and I were driving home when you called. We had dinner and I spent some money at the computer store. It sucks that the phone cut out.... Rest assured we can take care of what you proposed. It has been a strange day, some very high "highs" and some very low "lows" |

Well we talked to the surgeon and our Kitty Mayv, will need surgery. They can do it tuesday morning and they asked if we wanted to keep her there which I thought was a good idea. Then they can keep the IV fluids going and manage her pain. We visted her today, brought her treats, which they said she ate this afternoon and she started peeing again ...yeah!!...my heart hurts right now, and I have so much guilt. This all started with me trying to give her hair ball medicine ..Mayv fighting me and her falling about a foot...they say it was just a freak accident that she landed just weird and the tibula/fibula snapped. They will biopsy when they do surgery, to see if she has cancer. Her white cell count is 28.000..normal for a kitty is 10,000. So anyway...we are sad....Being a Medic and the not doing harm...and then this happened... (Message edited by lynn on February 14, 2010) |

Ah Lynn and Frank, I hate to hear the news about Mayv. I hope she does pull through well. Like Julie said, it is very difficult to go through the death and sickness of pets. I had cats when I lived in Nashville and went through the emotional wringer more than once with them. For now I don't want the responsibility so I am not willing to take any pets in. As for my weekend? Sue and I went up to Cripple Creek yesterday by truck via shelf road. They had the ice sculpture shindig going on and it was a lot of fun. I can't wait to have a bit warmer weather to get back on the bikes and ride, though. Sue is a great traveling companion. I need to encourage her to learn to ride, but without pushing it on her. |

She has to want to ride Jody. You can suggest it but it is not good to force it on someone. If she is happy riding with you then that is great as well. We went to visit Mayv again today. She is scared but so is her parents. She goes into surgery tomorrow and Lynn will hang out at the Vets all day. They will keep her another day after the surgery and then she can come home. The good thing is after the surgery she will not need the cast but we will be spending a lot of time caring for her. They are still no sure about the white cell count thing yet.

Man, that sucks about the cat. We have two cats and they're getting to be a bit older now (over ten). I figure it's just a matter of time before they start having problems. |

John, at least I got my workouts done in between the Red flags. In all the races I've watched, have never seen it called due to potholes. It was nice seeing a young guy win. It was amazing seeing the interview with him, he could barely talk!! Hang in there Frank and Lynn. |

Mayv's surgery went well, they put a small plate in her leg...I stayed there while she was having surgery, but unfortunately we can't see her till later this evening..and the doctor says if everything continues to go good, we will get her home tomorrow afternoon. yeah!!!...now we just have to make sure her baby sister doesn't irritate her....as sucky as it is not having a job right now, it works out good that I am home all day!! |

Oh Jody I forgot to mention I really like the pictures from your weekend trip with Sue.....so are there going to be wedding bells soon?!!...you'all look happy!!.... About Sue starting to ride on her own, ... the seed has been planted by you and me...now we just see what Sue decides. I kind of learned from a experience with another girlfriend rider of mine ..she had laid the bike down a few times and now has not ridden her Harley for a few years ...and I think she is just happier being on the back with her husband. Which is cool!! As we all know A healthy fear (respect) of the bike is good, ( I have that especially with my XB)...however when it is more that that, then it is just safer for the person to ride with someone else. |

I went through that with my wife, too. She scared herself when she was learning and is only now talking about getting back on, five years later. Don't push it. She'll do it if she's interested. If not, be glad she likes to tag along with you. |

Lynn is picking up Mayv to bring her home. Needless to say we will be happy to have our girl back at home. She will require constant care for a while but Lynn and I are up to the task. Jody, you have gotten a lot of good advice but, after meeting Sue, she seems to be one of those people that can do anything she puts her mind to and I bet, if she decides she wants to ride, she will pick it up very quickly. However, like we have all said, it has to be her decision. Just offer it to her and if she wants to she will do it. I must say that while Lynn and I have always enjoyed riding together (she is the perfect riding partner) the addition of the bike to bike communications makes it even better. From a safety stand point it is fantastic. Also handy in warning of Johnny Law and big bad bikers all over the road. I can imagine it will be invaluable in teaching a new person to ride as well as that first time on the open road can be scary. CJ, looks like I have a conference during the time of the Buell rally in GA... Damn it. |

Glad your kitty is coming home. Jody, is there a selfish reason you would like Sue to ride (ie riding fast and crazy) Frank, so you're enjoying talking to Lynn while riding. Yeah!!! So it's not so bad huh!!! Dan loves it when I sing to him (LOL) |

Poor Dan LOL..... It takes the riding together experience to the next level. I owe that to you and Dan... Thanks. Mayv is home and is still in shock from the four days of breaking a bone, having a cast, removing a cast, being cut on, pain meds, needles and being shaved... It is hard to see your pet in pain and know you can do nothing about it. She is finally sleeping and we still have a long way to go for recovery. She is our mission in life for until she is better. |
