My seat has wore the paint in 2 small areas on both sides of my tank,is this common on the M2 models?I plan to touch up the marks but see no way to prevent the seat contact from rubbing the paint back off, thought about some sort of tape to put on the contact points.

I know I saw something about a kit (Service Bulletin) that Buell had. It wasn't a recall but I think they were installing the kits free. It was a piece of felt that covered the row of staples on the bottom of the seat where it meets the tank. On the tank side there was a clear stick-on vinyl piece.

You should be able to do something similar. Use a piece of felt from an auto upholstery shop. I was thinking that clear shelf paper might work for the tank side but I'm not sure if it would stay put. The clear part was only on the tank where the seat would be meeting and covering so you wouldn't see it. If I find the Service Bulletin I'll post the link here.

My corbin seat has a suede strip glued to the bottom on the front of the seat. That would be cheap to copy, and should be pretty durable.
