The list of upgrades looks pretty significant to me, especially when the cost of the 2008 up Lightnings are about the same price (usually less) as the 2007 STT's available. |

Yeah, I've seen that - but some of the other postings I've read suggest the '07 platform was very well sorted out, had no recalls, and had the advantage of being "tunable" via ECMSpy which '08's and later didn't have (?) - so was actually preferrable. Maybe all that stuff has been sorted out by the 09's. And maybe it doesn't matter much... |

Good point! I was also told the 2007's can have an unpredictable idle issue? Maybe one of us should pull the trigger and buy one? |

I'm surprised you can see the roads, given the traffic in LA. Then once you get out of the town, the earthquakes and treehuggers will get you.
Plus, riding in the heat absolutely sucks. It is easier to stay warm when its cold than to stay cool in the heat, not to mention the heat getting pumped off the bike |

You Southerner's are killin' me... The good news is, up in the North we rarely wear out our bikes by putting too many miles on 'em.... |

My XB had about 40k on it before the warranty ran out, oh, and I bought it used. |

Ok Froggy, there's exceptions to every rule. But I've bought a lot of 20 year old bikes up here with less than 20k miles on 'em. Got a really nice '02 Moto Guzzi LeMans last year that had 7700 on it. Not even close to broken in yet. Sorry, getting a little off topic. kurbennett - the STT looks sweet! I'm envious... |
