Anyone ever try 'em with the large manta tank.... I know that there are clearance issues if you use clip-ons, but I am under the impression that the clubman bars sit a little further forward. |

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/476 23/434125.html Search "clubman" in the old school section and there's a couple more threads that might be helpful. |

TWD, yes you can. These are the first set I had on years ago with the skinny tank. In 14d's link there's a pic of it now with a manta ray on it.

Thanks for the link 14d, I guess I didn't spend enough time going through the search results after searching "clubman". Gotta check the measurements on the CR bars.... I think I can get a generic set of 7/8" bars for like 24 bucks, just dont know if they have similar specs. |

The generic clubman's I got from tourmaster or something like that weren't flat like the CR bars. I put them on my bike for a bit with the bars in the high position, thought they were too low flipped over. As long as you adjust them to fit right there aren't clearance issues with the tank. |

I forgot to mention in this thread that unless you like that funky bend in them in the upright position I would recommend pressing them flat, that puts them in an almost identical riding position as Crossroads bars. |

Thanks, it's a '98 S1 and that was my first redo paint job and probably my favorite but the infamous bubbling tank reared it's head after a couple of years. |

Blazin, thanks for the pics and all the info... I'm using a set of dirt bars now and want something lower, more cafe' racer. I feel your pain on the bubblin tank, I haven't done anything to fix the problem, just kinda let it do its thing... when the bubbling spread over the top of the whole tank everyone thought it was a custom paint job lol, then the clearcoat started to get brittle and flaked off in bits... just scraped it all off for now. I really love my bike, it's a daily rider so it doesn't get the TLC it deserves... slowly but surely trying to bring it back |

This is something that Erik mentioned in passing at a dinner - these clubmen where made specifically for the Buell Tuber - I always come up empty searching for these in America, but Busters in the UK has them for a fair price http://www.busters-accessories.co.uk/productinfo/M AP501645/Bars-And-Footrests/Replica-Handlebars/On- Two-Wheels Tubers are still popular in the UK as well. Sorry for the late addition, but I thought somebody here may want to know that. Oh - and for a little over twice that price - you can pick up a set of Jota/Laverda Bars from them as well - the ultimate cafe bar - suposedly - I like it. http://www.busters-accessories.co.uk/productinfo/R AAJBB/Bars-And-Footrests/Replica-Handlebars/On-Two -Wheels Hope that helps out the fellow cafe fans. Art , you can't tell from their pic if they are flat or not. I would take their measurements and see if that will clear your top trees and or fairing before you buy. Good luck! |
