Might be better to have the seat cut down and also narrowed in the front. I am sure you have already dropped spring pre-loads front and rear to the lowest setting. Getting it much lower may reduce useful suspension travel and invite bashing the muffler on 4" speedbumps found in parking lots and some neighborhood streets. No don't do it. I'm 5'3" also and yes, I'm tiptoe on mine too. Just get her a thicker soled boot. After some mileage I got used to it and it's very comfortable now. I've learned to just put one foot down but do need to be aware of any camber in the roads when stopping. I now have a CR also and that's a little scary as it's taller than the Scg. I almost feel like I'm learning all over again but I'm sure, with time, it too will become second nature. The trick is to just keep moving. |

That is about as low as you'd want to go. I'm 5'4 but tip the scales at 200 lbs and I've scraped the muffler a couple times. Custom seat, although the scg seats already low, thicker boots, and have her lean to one side at stops if she feels a need to flat foot one of her feet. She'll get used to it after a season. |

Yep she needs to HTFU and do the ass slide. I had to do it with a Uly, it is fine once you get the hang on it. |

I barely tippy toe my scg but I found it easier to slide left a bit and plant my left toe. It is very important to look where she will be stopping so she doesn't step on oil or hole. She will be fine. |

Dwight, My wife is 5'2" and has 28,000 on her '03 9sl and about 500 on her new '09 Scg. When her '03 was a month old we spent about $800 on a custom seat for her-best money we've ever spent on a bike. Not only did we gain some height out of it, it's a very comfortable seat. But, what helped her the most was just getting more miles under her belt on the new bike-she had put on 12,000 miles on her Blast, but the Lightning was higher. |

I spent about $75 to have my Scg seat reupholstered. It actually added to the height but gave me a softer more comfortable seat. The stock seat was really hard. |

I will take a couple of pics. No promises though, last time I tried to upload pics it was a fail. We had a guy by Chicago do it (Alligator Bob I think). Using the original pan, they narrowed the seat, pushed the bump ahead a little and put a gel pad in it so it would be comfortable. I have to say it works well. My Uly was down the day of the last ride and I spent over 10 hours on that seat and didn't get a sore butt. |

The stitching is actually black, the flash just made it pop. The seat is exactly how my wife wanted it. We had the bike down there, he had her sit on it so he could better tailor it for her. She asked for the flames....she's happy, I'm happy. |
