I thought I read somewhere that if you are going to swap from the Lightning heads to the Thunderstorm heads you will need a different head/engine bracket that mounts to the isolator. Anyone have some info? |

I think I just confused myself even more by trying to find the answer myself.... looks like the head progression is: Lightning Thunderstorm XB/XL1200R Do they all use different head mount brackets if I wanted to upgrade? |

If going to the XB heads you will need a different head/frame bracket. American Sport Bikes sell the NRHS one. I believe that the Lightning and Thunderstorm heads use the same mount but if not someone here will chime in shortly. |

I'm using the same mount to go from lightning to thunderstorm but I did have to drill the left hole larger. |

Don't forget to change your pistons to match the heads you're using. |

Only difference is the hole diameter on one side as mentioned above. The XB's have a different spacing.. |

By the way, That drilling should be a precise for the head and mount to survive. (Message edited by Rickie_d on December 27, 2009) |
