The stock XB lightning pegs are about an inch lower, just switch out the "feelers". I won't know how well they work until spring though |

On my Ss the lowered pegs had PLENTY of clearance for even aggressive street riding (while hanging off though...) and the feelers dragged at a mid B pace at the track... Removing the feelers gave good clearance but not enough for a true quick lap I am sure... Thats why I want these cycle pirate pegs... Lots of adjustability, I can go zero drop (or even slightly up) and back so I am still somewhat comfortable. Also IMHO the XB lightning and firebolt pegs are terrible in the grip dept. |

So, what modification are we talking about with using stock XBR pegs? |

Craig, You will need to do a little "filing" to get them to bolt up perfectly. Not too bad, though. Took about 5 minutes for each peg. Once you try putting the "pin" in, you will see what I am talking about. |

Great! Thanks for the info. I'm looking to have the XB pegs for my race bike, just because they are less expensive than the stockers. |

99buellx1... Whats a new set of stockers cost? I'd look into the LSL pegs... replacements are available and they grip great. The XB's were terrible in the grip dept. |

If i remember correctly stock XB pegs can be found for between $15-20. And I plan on just filing the points on the outside for a bit more grip. |

Got Cycle Pirates in, just an FYI based on paper work it appears the e-bay link is the main company themselves. Has the footpeg mount kit for $75.95 and pegs for $44.95 on the order form but then has a 41.94 percent discount to bring it down to the $74.95 price on e-bay. Its a shame, because Al is selling them for $75.95 + $44.95... and they are really neat. I set them back to the second level (farthest back possible) with a very slight up angle. Have yet to ride but my leg does not feel any more cramped then the stock 1" down (this is about 1.25" up from there and 1.25" back I'd estimate). Can shift as is but will adjust shifting to make it a bit easier... Also need to adjust the angle of the entire peg assembly using the small pins (look at the instruction sheet online or this wont make any sense) as the pegs are not angled straight out of the bike at the moment, they are angled slightly down. Seems like a fairly solid construction and the pegs grip nicely. Better than OEM, almost as good as my LSL pegs. Can't wait to try them out at the track! |
