Before and after effects of Convertibars on riding position: Stock bike upon delivery Feb. 2009.
Convertibars installed as noted here. Notice the grips are back about 2 to 3 inches and up about the width of the grip and my back angle is slightly more vertical.

Hey Sparky, You look younger in the second pic. Could it be the sheer happiness of being more comfortable? Peter |

Hi Peter I cancelled the order in the end - really didn't think they would work. I've just bought a secondhand top yoke off eBay and I'm just going to drill 4 holes in it and add some risers and fatbars. I'll weld a plate underneath to spread the load.. I was going to grind off the current bar mounts but think I may just cut the bars down and use them to mount speaker pods for my MP3 player (don't laugh) |

Hi Jules, Those adapters looked like they would fit into the top triple tree and allow the stock bars to bolt on. But until you have it in your hand and can put it on the bike you just can't tell if it would work. I don't blame you for canceling but I would have tried it. Good luck. Peter |

Riden, The white panels are what would have come with the long awaited 1125RTT model. That is, if Harley hadn't fubar'd BMC. No, they're number plates adapted from the discontinued XBSTT, although the parts are still available. |

I don't think so, Peter. They are designed to work with bars that are originally clamped in place. The 1125r bars have a bolt holding them and the bars have a slotted piece to keep them from rotating. I looked at them before deciding to modify a set of stock bars. |

The ROX risers won't work for several reasons. Beyond the retention method that Adrian pointed out, there are interferences with the master cylinders, switches, cables, etc that aren't obvious with that approach. Blower1, The ones you made are very similar to the ones I had on my CAD tube when Adrian posted his jogged bar approach. I had laid out the jogged bar approach first (2nd, actually), and then CADded a design very similar to the top clamp like you made. The jogged bar approach will be less adjustable, but more cost effective for production. But I might pursue the alternative as well. That extra bolt into the triple tree on each clamp is very wise..... Al |

I know the feeling Peter.. I'm definately going to drill the top yolk and fit fatbars, I'm sure if I weld a small plate underneath it won't have too much of an impact on strength.. |

I get finally the risers installed. I need to buy a longer brake and clutch hose. The bars are now about 1" back and 2.5" up and the bars are less angled than the originals.
