Rubberdown - so sorry to hear about your mountain bike accident. Your wife must be a saint. I don't know that I could let you go out the door on something with two wheels with your track history - LOL! Hope you are feeling better each day. |

Thanks for the thoughts. I've been on motorcycles since I was 7. I raced bicycles for over 10 years. Competed in the jumpers and events on horseback for years. I never had a bad accident or broken bone ('cept a digit) until this past year. I guess my number came up. No big deal. Trish is unfazed. This too shall pass. Happy Holidays to all. Mike. Down, any video of the mountain bike crash? Put it on Youtube. The comments that get posted will get your laughing healing energy going full tilt boogy. Have you ever seen the video of the dude who was doing 120MPH down hill and the mountain bike came apart at the head? Total wicked. The dude walked away with scratches. |

Where in PA 1313? About 2 and 3 hours Northeast of Pittsburgh, DuBois and St. Marys, Pennsylvania. About as much in the middle of nowhere PA as possible. But the good thing was that the route was close enough to make a visit to New Castle Buell. Even though their Buell *stuff* was pretty much picked through I still ended up finding a few T-shirts my size at greatly reduced prices. The employee who used to race (S1) Lightnings was freaking out over my old Buell varsity style jacket and told me that they signed up for the 7 years of support to Buell machines, but he planned eternal support. Seven of the employees ride Buell's and most are multi-Buellers. Another dealer that 'gets it' (or is that now 'got it'?)... Also considering that Erik Buell's alma matter is Pitt - as in the University of Pittsburgh it was as a Buell-centric trip as I could make it. Rubberdown, Nice RZ! I've had friends who've had both RZ 350's and RZ 500's. The ex-Buell employee who helped me with the custom bodywork and did the paintwork on my S2 did a custom RZ 350 for hisself recently:
U4, Happy B-Day! It happens to the best of 'em... And many more to come! Oldog, Moving sucks, but the effort will be worth it in the long run. It's good that it's a nice, quiet neighborhood... Oh yeah, I'm back... 1313 |

I picked up a retro light-duty hauler. Oil burner. 50 mpg. Hauls 1200lbs in the bed and 1500 in a trailer. Just don't be in a hurry. Awesome traction off-road but not a lot of ground clearance. Hopped on the 'hound last Thursday night to Richmond, picked it up and drove home non-stop through the night. '82 VW Rabbit diesel pick-up. Everything works. I love it.

Mike- dropped in to see what C3 was up to and saw your new truck: Nice! If you ever get the urge for more power! (not that I could ever imagine YOU getting that urge), check out the conversions forum at TDIclub: http://forums.tdiclub.com/forumdisplay.php?s=bda88 c85e48d0ec35666917339452a37&f=63 Quite a few people have dropped newer VW TDI diesels into these things. A late model TDI will let you keep your 50 MPG and have a truck that scoots too! I've got a bad hankerin' for a small diesel pickup myself. I've been checking out various diesel swap sites and keeping an eye on the new Mahindra diesel pickups that are supposed to come over from India in February. It's a shame none of the present small truck manufacturers will bring their modern diesels into the U.S. Oh yea, Merry Christmas C3! (Message edited by Hughlysses on December 23, 2009) |

Merry Christmas to all from East Troy - finally! Landing in Green Bay and the bus ride from Green Bay to Milwaukee were both unplanned adventures. Or why being the master of your own destiny on a motorcycle is so much sweeter... 1313 |
