Butch, I have an M2 tail and stock seat if you're interested...I think you'd have to cut the tail of the S3's frame down to fit though. I think I remember reading that somewhere on here. You'd also need to get the thumbscrew for the seat though I'm sure you can get one from a hardware store, they are like $18.95 from the dealer for a bolt. Let me know if you're interested. I actually have two tails, one new and one used. New is Black, in box from Buell, other is Yellow, with scuffs that can be polished out methinks. I don't believe there are any cracks either. |

It's a stock M2 dash mounted differently. |

Edit: Nevermind, I'm an idiot. You're starting with an s3 which already has inverted forks. I have nothing useful to add to this discussion (Message edited by pkforbes87 on January 15, 2010) |

If i understand what your doing, to put theM2 tail on a S3 just cut the rear frame legs off right behind the last cross brace that the seat bolts to. i did mine a few years ago. Since changed back to a S3 tail but no big deal. |

Well, I've been looking for an S3 fairing to fit on my M2 in case you decide to sell yours. I also have a M2 seat in as new condition if Wilson's doesn't pan out. The cycle of modification of our bikes continues!! |

It makes no sense to butcher a nice S3T in order to turn it into a kinda-fake M2. Sell the S3T and buy an M2 for the same money. It's a win-win deal and the "real" M2 will actually keep its value while a severely customized bike is only worth a fraction of a stock one. |

Butch - I like the wheels in that last pic you posted. Is that just a bare cast surface? |

The S3 tailpiece is way too big, an M2 tail would be much better. Also the front fender, and lose the fairing lowers, and the saddlebags, of course. I guess might be easier to put a fairing on an M2? Does anybody have a pic of one of an 'old school' cafe fairing, like a R90S style, on an M2? That might work well too. The S3 fairing is similar, just bigger and wider, and angled to match the tank a bit. |
