I have an FMF Apex slip on in the mail right now and am just wondering what the general consensus is when it comes to installing a slip-on before the initial break-in period is complete? Are there any mechanical risks to doing this, and if so, are they serious enough to wait until break-in is complete to do the install? |

No just put it on man and still follow your break in, I have same system and put it on during my break in, no problems at all (Message edited by jackgraves on December 10, 2009) |

Save yourself some time and call them and tell them your pipe didn't come with springs. Because it didn't! Jeff |

After reading some threads on the recent shipments of this slip-on I am totally expecting the springs to be missing for mine too. |

Don't mean to thread jack but since mine is still in the "break in" stages I guess this can apply. Do you guys recommend the FMF. I'm still on the fence about it. Don't know if I should stick with stock or get a pipe. If I get a pipe it'll definitely be the FMF. Do you need a tune with the slip on? |

Do you have to tune it, no. Should you tune it, yes. |

Has anyone bought the full race system? Is it true that it doesn't come with the muffler pictured? The thing I don't like about these is the GSXR looking muffler. |

Got jardine protune 3, it is the same as the dobeck, it was designed with dobeck, free spirits, big shot, arlen ness, two brothers juice box, they are all the same with a different label on the front. Mine works great got adjustment with FMF slip on from chris neely at jardine |

Go to fmf's website and have a look for yourself Moose. I'll spoil the surprise tho, the full system looks nothing like the slip on. |

I've been to their site, but somewhere I read that the full system doesn't come with the muffler in the photo and they all come with the carbon fiber covered one. Not that i'm going to spend $1700 for it, but it might go on sale after Christmas. |

It IS on sale, 20% off until March 2010. MSRP: $1699.99, now $1359.99 with free shipping (no tax either unless you're in CA). I think I might save my pennies now and have it just before the sale ends. Jeff (Message edited by jng1226 on December 11, 2009) |
