Start with the easy stuff 1st...all connections, starting @ the battery and working back from there.

Hope it's either an easy to find bad ground, or loose connection on 1 of the terminals for you. Keep us posted.

To check battery voltage on an 08' go into diag. mode
1.turn key off
2. hold both toggle and mode
3. turn key on(while holding toggle and mode)
4. procede to battery voltage.
5. also while in diag. mode you can check what the check engine light was caused by.

09'
scroll through gauge modes, i believe its on their..

if its completely dead...take everyone elses advice, or try jumping it (if done with a car, make sure its REALLY fast)

last week my battery died and a truck couldnt even start it so, 107$ later i got a new battery and some patience lessons on how to finagle that damn battery out of its hole lol..

If your battery is down, go into Diagnostic Mode in PARK, not RUN.
Taillight is on but not the headlights then.

Thanks to those that have responded.
I know how to check the codes and battery voltage on the ic.
Sac good tip ok the park mode hadn't thought about that.
bikes is spending the night at my work in the glass shop.
battery voltage is down to 11.6 volts but it still starts.

What I'm looking for is how to test the charging system to see if the stator is working.
But since its under warranty and it will be raining next week it will be at dealer in morning.
three stators in just over a year what could cause that?
