Mountainstorm: Have you tried the Gerbing gear. My Gerbing gear and controllers have over 10 years on them without a single issue. They also back their stuff forever. I switched controllers when I bought the gloves and they asked me if I had one of their jackets? I said yeah, why? They asked how I was going to use them and what controller. They then informed me that it would be better if they made some internal wiring changes in my jacket so it would work like what I wanted. They told me to ship it to them and they would fix it. How much I asked? They said: "No charge." They even switched the connectors to the coaxial from the SAE and fixed some connections they felt were marginal all for $00.00! No middleman, no hassle and, I shipped on a Friday and it was returned to me by the next Friday. This type of customer service is VERY rare. Just my experience but I have heard it from others too. I have the Aerostitch vest. Find it works fine for down to about 45 under the jacket and 35 under the Fieldsheer suit. Uses the same SAE connector as the battery tender, so one connector is all that's needed. Picked up the HD heated grips today to add them to the mix. Maybe I can then figure out the wiring for the Firebolt too. |

Not to hijack the thread but, this is right from the man himself on how to adjust the suspension: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rv8DY5Prl5c&feature =related |

Yes I can. I do have to keep rpm's around 5,000- 6,000 but that is with gloves and jacket with GPS, Sat Radio, Radar Detector, HIDs and, extra LED's on the rear. The only time I have had an issue is when I had a loose battery cable. I do use a battery tender at home but, at work or on trips it does fine w/o one. |

Going into my second winter with the Aerostich AirVantage electric vest and heated grips. Haven't felt the need for anything more (of course I layer accordingly under the Roadcrafter suit). Normally ride in below freezing temperatures as long as there is no ice on the road. |

CC Thanks for that tip. Gerbing sounds top flight. I already took the plunge with the TM Synergy gear. If it sucks I'll return it and hunt down Gerbing. Any recommended vendor for that line? |

Finally got to wear the TM stuff yesterday. Spent about 3 hours total in 35-39F temps riding around and was comfortable. Of course the clip on the controller broke before I even got my leathers on. I have the gloves and chaps plugged direct to the jacket liner so everything is on that one controller...so if it fails that would suck. I turned it off and ran 70-80 for a while and could feel the cold come in right away. Turned it back on and the cold went away almost instantly. I think for the amount of use I will give the gear will do the job. Even with the least expensive gear I could find it still rang up to almost $500. Only time and many seasons of riding will tell the tale. No issues with battery or charging so far: test was on the X-1. I have an extra power lead for the 1125r too. |
