I am considering buying an xb12scg for my wife because she is short. The problem is that she hates the way the front end looks on the bike. She loves the front end of an 1125r though. Has anyone tried putting the front end of an 1125r on an xb12scg? If not is it possible? | ||

You could put a XB12 Firebolt front end on. If you look on line you can find various front windscreen and fairings to alter the appearance. Anything can be adapted if you have fabrication skills. But - you might clue her in that when she is riding, she won't see the bike. The handling and low to mid range hp on the XB12Scg ought to make her love an ugly duckling. If she has not test ridden one, get her out on one. A brisk ride might change her opinion. | ||

A test ride would definitely help her decide. I love me new Scg. It may be an ugly duckling to some, but I like it. On the other hand I think the 1125r and 1125cr are lobsters. To each their own!  | ||

I agree the scg is a great bike. I have ridin one myself, and I am a huge fan of xbs. My questions aren't what type bike to get her. Thats already been settled(xb12scg). I just would like to know if anyone has tried to swap front ends with the 1125r? Or how hard it will be for me to do. | ||

i know someone has already put the cr front end on their bike. i'm sure if your inovative enough, you could do it even if no one has done it yet. there's quite a few people around here that have done some pretty neat stuff that don't mind giving their 2 cents worth. | ||

Yep it can be done, only real issues you will have is getting creative with the gauge cluster and ignition. I saw a pic of it on a track bike. | ||

Swapping front clips with XB12R Firebolt would be easier. It would also look better. The 1125 front is huge and would look like Lord Helmet, from Space Balls, on a little SCG. The radiator pods help reduce the look on the 1125R. Many people have put the Firebolt front on the Lightning. | ||

Over on the streetfighters forum (IIRC)there's a list with pics and links of all of the aftermarket mini fairings on the market so you can let her choose her style. My wife is happy with the looks of her new Scg. |
