Have the rules changed? I thought you needed to produce 50 machines a year. |

Nothing say's you can't run an older model. The 1125r should be legal based off of production #'s already met. In other words you can run a 2-3yr or older bike as long as it meets the current rule's of what is legal to modify. |

Want_a_buell- there must be 10 or 15 threads here with a pic and some info on the Barracuda. You don't necessarily have to race "this year's" model. The bikes can still run as long as they meet the homolgation requirements. |

The bieks are legal. The AMA rules, and pretty much everyones rules, do not specify that the bikes need to be manufactuered in the year it is raced. The bikes were, an dare homolugated based on production numbers fro the 2008 and 2009 model years. They will remain homolugated until such a time as the race groups decides to unhomoulate them. The only time I can see this happenign is when there is a major rule change like changing superbikes to be 750cc 4s or some such. There is really no need to make older bikes non-eligable as time will take care of it for you. A 2000 GSXR (just an example) could likely not run up front any more but you could still race it. The 1125 shoul dbe good for a couple more years as a competitive bike. |
