I know there is not much to them. The one with my Ss is tiny. |

I can look when I get home but it aint much. The ONLY tool of any real use is the axle tool. |

I used the shock preload tool and have used the Torx T27 wrench. There is also a cheezy screwdriver in there, I think it is there to set the damping on the suspension. Plus the mentioned axle tool. I think those are the only 4 tools in my kit |

And you can get all the screws from the body work on an R in that pouch with the tools too, just in case you are tearing it down on the road and don't want anything to get lost. |

Lets not forget the high tech helmet locking assembly... Or little piece of cable as I refer to it. |

I like the helmet lock! If the original poster doesn't mind. Now that we've established the little tool kit, can we go on to define what tools were in the Big Buell Tool Kit? Since it's been discontinued and is now long gone, I guess I'll have to make my own. |

My 03 9R doesn't seem to have a helmet hook of any kind, not that I ever use them. |

So there is suppose to be a hex type tool i can fit a socket to, to remove my axle? all i got in my kit is, 2 fuses, a star head type alan wrench, screw driver w/ 2 bits, some kinda silver extension pipe? and a wrench to adjust the shock under my seat. |

If the extension pipe is crimped on one end to fit the shock tool, then you have something I don't. My axle tool is just a single size hex whit a snap ring so that it doesn't go in to far. The one at American Sport Bike looks kind of nice. |

Yeah the American Sport Bike one is nicer but they both serve the same function. I wonder if snap-on or SK make one... |

Yep its crimped on one end... so im guessing ill have to make a trip to my dealer and ask em about the missing axle tool.. cause i have no way of removing the axle and taking my wheels off other wise. |

Try using the hex end of a 13/16" spark plug socket. http://www.jcwhitney.com/jcwhitney/product.jcw?nva l=0&statenval=0&productId=2013848&shopid=100001&pa geid=13&skuId=384956&TID=0901 |

That's a cheap idea to try. Lop the sparkplug end off and drive it with the square drive and a ratchet. I'll have to try that and see how well it fits. |

One of the things I added to my take-along gear is a list of torques and Loc-Tite colors. When proceeding across country, I find it comforting to have the axle torques, spark plug values, ect to hand in case of a problem. If a flat tire, for example, I can walk a tech through the process, and feel that the job was done correctly...... |
