Yep, my Buell dealer, Silver Eagle HD/Buell, is selling everything on this list at at least half price. Traction grips bought for $5.54 per set. Needless to say I've purchased many sets! |

Just picked up a set of Traction grips to go with my CR high bar kit. Also just got a Tank Mask too. I was considering the Custom Seat for my CR ... but I don't need anything that is higher than stock ... |

So basically this stuff needs 2 be in stock at your deal. If not your not getting it? I would really like to get another set of traction grips. And maybe a few other things. And the custom firebolt seat esp if its half off! My dealer doesn't stock much tho |

Firebolt seat will fit a CR; SS seat is for a lightning. The firebolt seat - CHECK THE WEBSITE, it's in the catalog - is about 1.5" tall compared to the approx. 1/4" thick stock seat. |

Well, I went to my dealer armed with the list. They had none of the stuff of interest (seat, tank bags, grips), and it all came up "unavailable" and "pending obsolete". He admitted they didn't cater heavily to Buell customers and always had to order the accessories - stocked pretty much none of them. Oh well. The good news is my back-ordered high bar kit had conveniently come in this morning, so at least I got to walk out with those! |

What's the deal with these parts? Is HD offering a rebate to the dealers or something? My dealer said all of the parts I inquired about are big sellers for him and the best he can do is my standard 15% discount... |

The dealers were given a lot of room to move. But they don't have to - it's an opportunity for them to make more margin if they're so inclined. For instance, dealer cost of traction grips is now listed at $2.77/pair. But that doesn't mean they can't charge MSRP. |

So that would mean that their cost on parts already purchased does not change? They only get a cheaper cost if they buy more stock form HD? |

What does it matter? If you WANT the parts, you better get out and pay what the dealers WANT for them...because when they are gone...they are GONE. MSRP on most Buell items was a fair a week ago and it still is today. ac |

"What does it matter?" Because if I'm going to buy them, I'd like the best price. Seems like a simple concept to me. And I don't think that anyone would argue with the thought that the prices were fair a week ago as well. |

From what we can gather, all the accessories that went on special pricing this morning are sold out before noon High Country time. Having learned our lesson from the riding clothes sale, we came in at 6:00am in order to be equivalent to east coast stares to purchase these things. In fact, many of the things we ordered this morning that were initially accepted are now showing "hold" status; usually meaning unavailable. But, Buell is also offering special costs on the 1125R lower side fairing kit: (Part #M2296.1AMMW) These are black only for finish. We are offering these at $339 (price corrected 20Nov) plus sales tax while supplies last and we do not expect there are an abundance of these available. We've sold several of these on some bikes and they look sharp. If you want one of these, call parts at High Country Buell 720.881.3678 If shipping is required, that will be additional. Payment can be made by credit card. ~jammer (Message edited by Jammin_Joules on November 20, 2009) |

See...that is EXACTLY what I figured would happen. Dealers aren't dumb. They see these announcements and they jump in and buy everything. Then they throw it on Ebay for $$ to get the national audience. ac |

The Harley-Davidson 10-Q indicates that $70,000,000 was allocated for dealer incentives to move stock. Unless they are offering $10,000+ discounts per bike there is a LOT of money unaccounted for. I think Harley would reimburse a dealer for ANYTHING they did to clear Buells and Buells merchandise. I suspect, looking at that number, there is a lot we don't know. |

WOW Ya'll should see the discount the dealers are getting this stuff at 75% of their cost so talk them down cuz the can come way down on this stuff. the gps unit is like 120 compared to 500ish. |

As long as the dealers think that there is some panic buying going on (i.e. people think this stuff will not be available anymore), they have ZERO incentive to mark down the prices at all. Most the dealers I called seemed to think that they should be charging MORE than retail for this stuff because it will be so "rare". The 75% off is just a LOT more money in their pockets and I personally will NOT buy this stuff knowing that they are pocketing 300%-400% profit on this stuff.} |
