Hi, I'm new to Buell's/ and bikes in general, have only just got a 2007 stt, awesome to ride so far. I think is missing a bit sometimes on acceleration tho and 'check engine' light was on so took it to service people, they ran a diagnostic on it and told me the exhaust valve actuator pn S0138.2AA was faulty. So I have ordered a new one, am just wondering if it is easy enough to swap it over or will the bike need tuning once it's done ? They seemed very busy in the shop so thought i'd ask here, I guess if the check engine light goes off once swapped, then it's all ok, will see how it runs, any advice appreciated. Thanks. |

Super easy job-10 mins max. Pop off the airbox cover and you'll see it top center of the airbox. A couple of torx screws hold it on-all you'll have to do is attach the cable. It will be very clear what to do once you take the airbox cover off. |

While it is disconnected you should check the action of the cable and valve to make sure it is not sticking by pulling on the cable. Some techs route the cable wrong which places too much load on the actuator and this strips the gears that make it work. |

Installed a micron serpent exhaust on my 2008 xb12xt. Runs fine but my check engine light comes on at about 4700rpm. I remember reading somewhere about a jumper for the exhaust valve actuator circuit? anybody know how to make one up |
