So no body disputes... heat is a issue on the 1125r right? Well, it seems to be common that Buell owners like to wrap their headers. What I am thinking of doing is not just wrapping the headers, but the whole muffler too. Does anyone have thoughts on the pros &/or cons of doing this? Black wrap of course. |

it will not last long with all the wind and especially water this fall/winter. some will say it will corrode your pipes til they are paper thin, and the dealer will void your warranty if they crack. it will help with the heat. but i think wrapping he muffler will be a waste of time/effort/materials. how would you wrap such an irregualrly shaped item, and how much heat is felt coming off of teh muffler? |

Yes you are right, the muffler I guess does not put off that much heat. However that round bit up in front gets hot enough to glow red. What about wrapping that bit along with the header pipes? Yeah the shape is odd, but I think I can do it and make it look good. Excellent point about warranty. I'll check with the local shop before doing anything. |

Compared to my ST1300 (Pan European over there), the 1125 is very cool. Oh yeah all IC engines b/t your legs will feel warm to hot in the summertime. Like others have said there are longevity issues with wrapping headers and the muffler, IMHO, is a waste of time. |
