I have a friend of mine that is a bit of a "mad scientist" when it comes to motorcycles. I was thinking... what if we mutated my XB9Sx to be an XB1125Sx. How big of a headache? Anyone tried it yet? Basics I would need, engie, ECU... and...? Froggy, some help with this plz? |

A thread like this pops up once in a while, and I always ask, "Why?" The 1125 frame is superior to the XB frame, plus it actually fits. There is no guarantee that any Rotax mill would fit into the XB frame. All the engineering is done, if you really like your S tail and front, just get an 1125 and swap those pieces. |

The 1125 frame is superior to the XB frame Care to elaborate on that??? I think not. |

For one thing, it holds a gallon more fuel. For another, it's American made (the XB frame is made in Italy). |

Why? Well, I already have the XB, and I assume that an engine is cheaper than a whole bike. I have a mad scientist at my disposal who will do most labor for free, since I teach him martial arts for free. Also, I notice the HD emblem on my jugs, and since HD has no love for Buell, I am interested in eliminating their engine from my Buell. |

The 1125 frame is quite simply the next generation. A really good frame, perhaps the best in the world on the XB, is improved by increasing stiffness where needed and improving damping of vibrations. There is a thread elsewhere where Dave McGrath says the 1125 is the only race bike that he has ever come across that simply does not chatter. Ever. |

Dave, Its the whole package that would make it superior. Not the frame its self. If it has no chatter that is great. It does have its area's though that it does not work its best though. (Message edited by bads1 on November 12, 2009) |

T1120.1AMA ENGINE UNIT, PREPPED, STD THROTTLE BODY Retail Price:$6,250.00 So, $6250 for just an engine, or $5k for a whole bike? But if you got the cash, knock yourself out and take tons of pics and post it. |

For one thing, it holds a gallon more fuel. For another, it's American made (the XB frame is made in Italy). Sure, but does it have greater range with that extra gallon of fuel? And since when do the Italians know little about manufacturing? Verlicchi makes some outstanding products for some very well-respected companies. The argument that an XB would improve with a Rotax in it is as silly as saying an 1125 would perform great with a Thunderstorm in it. Each bike performs best as designed- anything else is just mechanical masturbation. |

heres an idea to protest buell: i know from how many times i see the logo on "sons of anarchy" and commercials during the show... thats the image they want to project. so.... we all mount baseball bats to our front forks. put together a huge group ride. we call it "the running of the buells" we show up at h.d. headquarters like something out of the book of revealations and we kick some ass. they will think "omg those guys are so cool" next thing you know harleys are only sold thru buell dealerships and only get about 10 square feet of floor space in said dealerships. |

I love the idea of running an orginized Buell run/protest to the HD headquarters. We would need to get some major badwebbers to set it up and ride right up to the doors of the HD "palace" and demand to free Erik!!!! Hahahahaha! Seriously, though- a good orginized Buell run to HD would make a bold statement. HD is keeping Erik employed, right? Think they are planning somthing like this as a production bike? http://twobitchoppers.com/bikes.htm |

I would be in for that...As far as Buell making cheezy chopppers...I cant imagine. Im sure Erik would rather just work part time at Advanced Auto or something. Leo |

>>>I love the idea of running an orginized Buell run/protest to the HD headquarters. That idea has gained some interest . . . it's really bad to see some of the crap they are pulling off. |

I would try to make that run to HD HQ. I am sure having a black belt there would be a benefit. |

Not sure a black belt will be necessary against the pencil pushers at HD but whatever it could be fun. |

i will design a baseball bat holster with mass centralization in mind. try to get louisville slugger to sponsor us and practice destroying stuff from the seat of my buell. maybe play road rash on n64 for some more ideas. i am thinking it would also be great to challenge the h.d. execs to a jousting match on motorcycles. |

He he he... chains... don't forget chains. We can swing chains from the saddle. |

How about a "Harley Bash"... take a junker H-D and let everyone take turns bashing it (literally) right there in front of HQ. If questioned why we're doing this, the answer would simply be "catharsis". |

At next years Homecoming, we need to get us a H-D to hang in a H-D hang'n tree.... We can all take wacks at it like its a Pinata... I've seen H-D riders do this to asian bikes and they seem to think its fun.... so I think we could give it a try. We can't use anything Shovelhead or older...them bikes are cool.... |

I would love to see Erik bring back the FXR frame, put the XB9/12 motor in it, and keep the sportbike hooligan alive , still about 400 lbs, still BUELL. Of course this one is EXILE but you get the jest.
