Just installed the FMF on my CR. Install is pretty straightforward however I'm missing the 2 springs. Called FMF and replacements should be on the way. Side note. It's the juvenile in me but I can't help starting a motor without an exhaust system to see how it sounds. On my XB12Ss I actually rode around for a few weeks before installing the D&D. Anyway, dropped the muffler on the 1125 and started it up to see how she would sound au natural. Now, lemme just state that I thought I had a high tolerance for loud noises. I don't think I ran it for more than 3 seconds before I hit the kill switch. Good god it was loud and riding it was completely out of the question. Got the midpipe on and didn't even bother starting it again to see what it would sound like. Unbaffled muffler is on and is as loud as I would ever want it. Other things I've run without an exhaust: My '65 Mustang - without headers can't run for more than a few seconds although it was cool to see blue flames shooting out of the exhaust ports. With Hooker long tubes sounds really good but too loud for me. Currently runs H-pipe with 2-chamber Flowmasters. '94 RX-7 with downpipe straight off the turbo sounded like an IMSA car complete with flames underneath. Wife's 2006 Ducati Monster with just the headers was VERY similar to the 1125 although not as loud. Installed the Arrow Ti high-mounts sans baffles = sex. So what have you run? Nels |

Ha, nice to know I'm not the only closet ricer. You're a better man than I, though. I couldn't even stomach my XB12 sans muffler! |

Makes me giggle like a schoolgirl every time I do it. Let's my neighbors know I'm being considerate when I put the muffler back on. Z |

i did the Hendrick automotive engine build off in 2008, we built a chevy race engine. the clock stops after the engine has ran for 1 minute. after listening to those motors, sometimes two at a time, run for a minute with nothing but a header, i won't start anything up with out a muffler. just too da#% load for my tastes. for what it is worth, my build time was 31 minutes.http://photos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs110 .snc3/15756_1285493576801_1213991948_30874763_8343 786_n.jpg |

I just put the D&D back on the bike and DAMN!!! It sounds incredible and very loud. I had the Jardine on today but it just didn't have the awesome sound of the D&D. I am going to the dealership tomorrow for the new flash and I hope they don't mind the noise |

Vosnick, The million dollar question is did you resist the temptation to start her up when you had the muffler off? Nels |
