Anyway to fix it? Afta wasn't working so well. Any suggestions?

I'm under the impression the fairing can be sanded clean then rebuffed. Techniques? Ideas? Anything?

Maybe non-acetone nail polish remover.

You can't just peel it off or rub it off with your finger? That stuff is sticky, but it doesn't stick so good to smooth plastic.

Ok, nix that experiment, Only have 100% pure acetone, and Acetone based remover in the house. 12 females here and that's it...

Any other ideas? Worried that if I let this wait till tomorrow that it will be too late if not already.

It dried hard, almost like crazy glue. doesn't peel at all. First tried wiping it off wet rag within seconds of the glob running down the bike. That didn't work...

Now I have a mess on my hands.

It won't matter how long you wait if it is already dried like krazy glue. Here is a site from Krazy Glue that recommends using Acetone to break it up: http://www.krazyglue.com/faq/

You should try the acetone on an out of sight plastic area to determine if it will damage the shine. The underside of the airbox cover might be a good place. The decal may be scrap, but it's cheap.

Tried an adhesive remover that really worked well. but took the shine right with it. Buddy of mine that owns Detailing place said to come by in the morning and he'll give it the once over... Will let you know how it goes.. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Best thing to do is call the manufacturer of the adhesive and talk to their tech support people. Always do that before conducting science experiments on your prized possessions.

Fmax,
I tried calling them. they were closed and I was panicked. Little too late for that one.

I'm hoping I find a solvent that will remove the adhesive, And not completely destroy my decals. And still give me my shine back on my plastic.

My luck will be that I find a solvent that removes the Gunk, destroys the decals, and leaves me sanding and buffing the fairing back to shiny. Then having new decals made. Only worry their is that i won't be able to match the colors of the Other decals on the bike.

Mavrick813,

Slow down. It's not too late to call the manufacturer. You don't have to get the adhesive off in the middle of the night.

If you try to "find a solvent", you might do a lot more damage, so try calling them again when they are open.

Fred

P.S. Yes, I know how hard patience can be when you just want the problem fixed. I'm the same way when it's my stuff.

I've always had good luck with WD40 as a 'step up' from goo-b-gone for adhesive removal.....it is pretty safe on many surfaces

Well, the Gunk is off, and the shine is back. but the Gunk frigged up the plastic. You can't see it unless your right on top of it, and even then I think it's just more noticable to me.

Regardless something tells me the decals are coming off, and the plastic is going to get a Light sanding and Re-buff. then off to the Airbrush.
