I've been a fan of the Blast for a long time, and it will always be my favorite wrenching and play time hobby. I've become so good at riding them that I've embarrassed larger bikes in the twisties, and have had nothing but fun. They are two radical Blasts - Vader and Starkiller - or as Jim Nance refers to them - Buell's that where formerly Blasts - lol.

Still I wanted a bike that already reflected my style and would need no modifications to do so. I liked the all black 2010 XB9 and walked in to purchase one, when they mentioned they had a CR for less that they would turn black for me. I stopped and really looked at a bike I never considered before - the 1125CR. All the power I would ever need, and plenty of attitude - a perfect stablemate for two radical Blasts. Still I was hesitant, yet the idea of long term reliability, and only doing maintenance was too much to pass up - I said yes.
That was then, on to now. I gave it its first cleaning, and just looked at the bike. I wanted to do everything right, so I'm following the manual and am gathering the few things needed for maintenance, and thinking about the first rides I've had on it. My first 5 mini-rides where just to introduce heat cycles and get used to how the bike handled in the city, and to scrub in the tires. Heavier than a modified Blast by almost a hundred pounds, I had to make sure acceleration through a turn was more consistent, and smooth.
Soon I found out that smoothness was the key to everything on this bike and that the smoother you are, the better the bike's response to said input. So I've been taking her out and practicing the Ride techniques - especially cornering - and each time I've gotten a little faster and smoother, with less brake and more acceleration, and then come home with a bigger smile. Being my weekend bike, means that I can make sure that the tires see a fair amount of curves as well as straights, and that the tires wear fairly evenly. LOL - I'm building up to a nice 4 days of riding to happen during my birthday/Christmas in the Mendocino area. I'll be turning 50 this year, and can't think of a better way of celebrating it - if the fates allow no rain - in Cali a definite possibility - I'm sooo looking forward to it. Each time I take this bike through its paces, it responds perfectly - no surprises, only a willingness to do more. The bike's attitude perfectly matching my own.
This bike well lives up to her name - constantly on my mind - the rides we shall take and the adventures we shall find - yes the name Insidious fits her well!

nice! I have wanted an 112R since introduction in july 2007. I always thought I would end up with a black one, like my XB12R, and instead I got STUCK with a white and blue one. My big plans were to purchase late this next summer after seeing what the 4th iteration held for the 1125 platform. sigh, then 10/15 happened.

Got her home and Im really really diggin' the white and blue. She looks great! She's half naked, big chested (pods).... heavy blue mascara,, kinda like a stripper....HA alot like a stripper

Jasmine is the perfect name for her!

swear to god

Man, paragraphs here and there would have made that so much easier to read.

So have your forgiven Buell for cubing the Blast, yet?

Karma has a way of biting a hero on the ass when something stupid is performed, and the hero then rises above such things - I expect the same from Erik Buell. I'll fix the top - did that late at night before crashing - lol
