Sitting at a red light trying to find neutral (still a little touchy on the new gearbox), I rev the engine to get the gears to engage with maybe a 10% goose. Instead of getting revs, I hear a click in the airbox and the engine does NOTHING. I know everyone talks about the noid in 3rd gear - but could this be the noid doing its thing? |

throttle cable slack? i've heard some new 1125s have waaaay too much throttle cable slack. and it sounds like you aren't wearing ear plugs when you ride .... tisk, tisk. |

Might be, but I doubt it - the cables are pretty accurate. Plus, it wouldn't explain why the clicking noise. I would love to be in an area where I can ride fast enough to need earplugs. I wear them when I need them - but I was just running across town to get my haircut - 35 mph tops in a FF helmet. |

Inc. thread hijack- I feel like my throttle has a ton of slack before it engages, then it's perfectly smooth after that. I'm talking about 1/2 inch of play before anything happens. Is there a way to adjust that? |

Hijack #2 ... Tpoppa, I noticed mine has a bit more slack than I like, but it's not terribly bad. Do you and other tend to adjust all the play out of it, or is it advisable to leave a tad there? Speedy, I know it's not noid related (even though that thing gets blamed for a lot of unrelated things), but I too have a little trouble finding neutral after a longer ride, especially if the bike is still running. I have mine set to no measurable slack. |

You want some slack to take tension off the throttle cables, even when at the steering lock. The manual probably says 1/4 inch. I like mine around 1/8 inch. It's personal preference, you want it to be smooth on/off throttle. |

I do know that if you blipped the throttle pretty good at a stop on my cr pre-noidectomy, it would kill the engine. Did it several times, and not once since removal. I would bet the click you heard was it snapping shut. Yank it! R |
